  • Back-to-basics site off the A422, a 15-minute drive from Worcester
  • Stratford-upon-Avon half an hour’s drive; Birmingham 45 minutes
  • Dogs welcome; easy access to nature walks; pub a five-minute walk away
If you’re planning your escape to the country, consider heading to Worcestershire, where you can hike to your heart’s content among spectacular rural landscapes such as the Malvern Hills. And if that’s what you decide to do for your next holiday, you might want to book a spot at Snodsbury Court. At this tiny wild site, the ground levels vary, so please pack your levelling equipment if needed. From the site, there is easy access to several walking routes, not forgetting a series of nearby nature reserves such as Grafton Wood (five minutes’ drive) and Warndon Woodlands (10 minutes), that you can explore with your dog wagging its tail at your heels. Snodsbury Court sits on the outskirts of the village of Upton Snodsbury, just off the A422 road that links Worcester (15 minutes) to Stratford-upon-Avon (half an hour). And that’s not the end of the excellent road connections from this site: the M5 is a 10-minute drive away, and from there you can zip south to Cheltenham (45 minutes) and Gloucester (50 minutes), or north to Birmingham (45 minutes). The Cotswolds are also around an hour's drive away. Bow Brook marks the edge of the field, which comes with a gender-neutral portable toilet and taps for clean running water. It’s a no-frills site with varying mobile signals depending on your network, but there is plenty of peace and quiet to be had. And – good news – the nearest pub and café are only a five-minute walk away, on the A422. More pubs and cafés are a short drive away.

Liked Location

Disliked Toilets disgusting and filthy, hornets nest around only water point and several people got multiple stings when trying to collect water.

From the manager: Thanks for leaving a review and as described in our listing we are currently a back to basics site therefore if we had been made aware of your issues by yourself during your stay we could have taken action earlier and pointed you in the direction of the positions of the other water points we have around the campsite. However we can confirm after our first being made aware of a wasp nest next to one of the multiple water points that action has been taken.
We would hope that every guest would leave the toilet as they found it. if they not had we hadn't been made aware then that's disappointing. As listed there is one chemical toilet on site which is under a service contract with the hire company and emptied and cleaned on a weekly basis.

Lovely back to basics site.

Liked Felt like you were in the middle of nowhere, back to basics but water and toilet on site. Was quiet when we stayed, almost like we had the place to ourselves.

Disliked No campfire, really.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked We absolutely loved how peaceful this campsite was!
Almost wild meadow pitches with access to water taps & basic toilet.
Not far away from the village.
Great for walkers and cyclists as there is so much to explore around.
We had a lovely, relaxing stay. Thanks a lot!

Disliked The only thing we did not like was the toilet and the smell of chemicals used.
We would love to see something more eco friendly :-)

From the manager: Thank you and we're glad you enjoyed your stay with us and we appreciate your feedback on the chemical toilet.

Very good peaceful sight.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked This was a lovely site very peaceful. Lots of birds were singing, there was an owl I heard at night and a woodpecker in the sat. Some lovely walks and we had the field by the small river all to ourselves. It was great for the tortoises Misty and Tina (our pets) who come with us on our adventures. There is a lovely pub 5min walk away which we will try next time we visit.

Disliked If I had to moan about something it would be the slight bit of road noise occasionally but that didn’t really bother me.

From the manager: Thanks Julie for your review, the wood peckers and owls are vocal at the moment which is lovely to hear nature, it's great to hear we can add tortoises to the visitors list too, thank you.

Local attractions

Get in the car to go to Worcester (15 minutes' drive) to browse around its medieval cathedral and The Commandery, or spend the day shopping and eating out. Interesting museums in Worcester include the Museum of Royal Worcester, with its collection of porcelain and bone china, plus pottery-making and painting workshops. From there, walk along the leafy Severn Way, past the cathedral and all the way to Pitchcroft Green, home of the Worcester Racecourse. If you want to double down on the equestrian sport action, visit the Stratford-upon-Avon Racecourse (half an hour’s drive), perhaps en route to catching a performance at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre or the Swan. After checking out the Elizabethan-era exhibits in Shakespeare’s Birthplace, head to Magic Alley for a sleuthing challenge. The collection of classic vehicles at the British Motor Museum (50 minutes’ drive) features sports cars by the likes of McLaren and Aston Martin, plus vintage Jaguars and Land Rovers. There are also famed cars from the silver screen and vehicles on loan from the Royal Family.
