  • Peaceful Worcestershire site between River Severn and Droitwich Canal
  • A 10-minute drive from Worcester; West Midland Safari Park 20 minutes
  • River fishing available for an extra charge; next to a bus route
With stunning views over mixed countryside in the pretty county of Worcestershire, Mill House is home to a range of well-maintained pitches and some good amenities, including a toilet block, showers and a handy washing-up area for your pots and pans. Its location also helps it to stand out, as the site is between the scenic River Severn and the Droitwich Canal, a quick 10-minute drive from the centre of historic Worcester and next to an attractive marina. Mill House is a chilled-out kind of place – one where you're welcome to bring dogs along to join the family break and barbecues are permitted for some alfresco eats. Supermarkets, butchers and other amenities are just a short drive down the A449, making it simple to source provisions for your stay. There’s also a local bus route a short distance away, so it's easy to leave the car back at base and get out and about in the local area. Fancy a spot of angling? At Mill House, river fishing is available for an extra fee. There are also plenty of walks and cycling trails along the waterways and in the surrounding countryside to explore during your time here.

What customers say

Beautiful riverside/canal pitches. Impeccate, modern facilities, hailed as the best. Friendly, helpful staff. Popular horse-box bar & food van. Generally peaceful, but some A-road noise & occasional wet ground after rain. Wi-Fi can be unreliable/costly.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Superb, and the pictures don't do it justice. A section of the Salwarpe river runs through the site, and we were able to back up our van and sit next to it watching a kingfisher across the river. There's a walk through the back gate that takes you on a path between the Salwarpe and the Droitwich Barge canal.

Take an inflatable canoe (with the appropriate paddle permit, of course) and row downstream to sit on the bank, dangle your feet in and drink beer. Yet more kingfishers around.

The site is a couple of miles from Worcester, and you can be in the centre of town in ten minutes or so. Closer to the site, on the edge of Worcester, is a classy veg shop.

On site, there's a bar operating out of a horsebox(?). A bottle of beer is about £3, and a bottle of wine is a tenner. Take it back to your van or be sociable on the picnic tables by the mini marina.

Toilets are exceptionally good for a caravan site, and there's constant radio playing so no-one can hear you poop. The shower cubicles are huge.

The site is close to the dual carriageway, but the noise didn't bother me. The noise of the weir is louder. YMMV.

Everyone is so friendly.

I like this place.

Disliked nowt.

Liked Stayed for a one night stopover. Good that we could choose our pitch as was such a hot day and we managed to find some shade. Pitch sizes were good. Clean toilets and showers. Nice canal and river walks from site.

Disliked Road noise.

Electric grass pitch

Liked The cleanliness of the bathroom facilities.

Disliked Not very lively - didn’t see many families - only older people.
We pitched up where there was shade but we were then by the very noisy road which never stopped throughout the night.
Reception not great there and have to pay for Wi-Fi.

Local attractions

As it's just a few miles to the north of Worcester (10 minutes' drive), you're sure to want to get into the city to visit attractions like Worcester Cathedral (with its famous Norman Crypt), the timber-framed Tudor House Museum, the Royal Worcester Museum with its extensive porcelain collection and Worcester Woods Country Park (out of town, 15 minutes’ drive), which is great for a picnic or dog walk. Slightly further afield, a half-hour drive will get you into the midst of the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a green and grassy range of peaks with lots of hikes to choose from. Head in the opposite direction for a day trip to Kinver Edge (half an hour), an elevated sandstone ridge and ancient hillfort with far-reaching views. Got kids who need to be kept entertained? Cadbury World (40 minutes) on the edge of Birmingham is sure to prove popular with sweet-toothed tiddlers. Other good options in the vicinity of Mill House include the West Midland Safari Park (20 minutes) and Full Throttle Raceway (half an hour), where there's a separate mini track for young children.
