  • Communal kitchen area with games and firepits on site
If your one holiday must-have is a good view, make your way to Warwickshire Wild Camping. Overlooking hills, lakes and countryside in the south Warwickshire countryside, this scenic site is on a peaceful, remote hilltop in Compton Verney. It’s also only a 20-minute drive from Warwick Castle, Stratford-upon-Avon and Royal Leamington Spa. The bell tents at this site are just the thing for a relaxing break. To start with, the site has views of Compton Verney Art Gallery and Park, which is otherwise a 25-minute walk away. This attraction features landscape gardens designed by Capability Brown and an 18th-century mansion. The peaceful bell tents, which can be booked individually or for a larger group gathering, have mattresses, a chandelier with battery-powered tea lights, outdoor lanterns, a doormat, four electric sockets and decorations such as fairy lights, bunting and ivy. The only thing you need to bring is your own sheets and bedding. When it's time to cook, head to the covered communal area which has fridge-freezers, a microwave, a kettle, tables and chairs and games. The running water is suitable for drinking and cooking. There are also firepits on site, as well as parking for up to two cars per bell tent and a communal male and female toilet (but no showers). There are shops, restaurants, petrol stations and supermarkets 10 minutes’ drive away from Warwickshire Wild Camping in Wellesbourne. The area surrounding the site also has some splendid walks. There are several pubs within a five-minute drive of the site.

Liked: Amazing campsite; beautiful bell tents, great communal kitchen dining area and clean toilets. Loved the addition of fairy lights and ivy decorations! Andy was very helpful and attentive. Lots of safe space for the kids to play.

Disliked: One thing that would have been helpful was a light in the portaloos.

Liked: Everything was excellent. Andy was very welcoming and gave a tour of the site. The tent was as you would expect it, clean and tidy and just as the pictures show. The view was amazing, we used the site as a base for two days of activites off site - we are glad we made the choice to stay here. We will be using the site again! Thank you Andy!

Disliked: There is nothing to dislike about this site. It is exactly as described!

Bell tent (four person)

Liked: Everything was perfect! Andy was a great host, he showed us how everything worked and where everything was. The tents were spacious and clean and had everything listed inside. The view was beautiful and the fire pit set up was nice with the deck chairs. Would definitely come again and recommend.

Disliked: Being woken up at 7am by screaming kids (not anything to do with our booking). Maybe a rule could be in place for quiet times? Not a huge problem, we expected this but just a suggestion.

Liked: Andy was very good from beginning to the end, firstly communication, friendly, welcoming and helpful. The bell tent- was clean, decorated beautifully, lots of room and the beds were comfortable. Lots of space for children to play. BBQ rented, Andy helped set it up in a good place so it wasn’t to windy. The views are amazing, also Beautiful skies. Lots of walks and of course Compton verney and events is a short walk. It was a Great weekend.

Bell tent (four person)

Liked: Loved the bell tents with all the light features. The main communal tent had lots of beneficial extras, like: fridge, freezer, kettles and seating area. The scenery was stunning and perfect for a secluded getaway. Lots of space between tents and for the kids to play.

Disliked: The slope of the site though looks flat wasn’t, the younger kids rolled out of bed during the night but as the mattresses are low this wasn’t a big deal. Just altering the position of the mattresses would fix this for future visitors.

Bell tent (four person)

Liked: The site was lovely and nicely set out. Plenty of space for the kids to run around in view of the tent. The bell tent itself was set up beautifully/ the kids loved the fairy lights and chandelier! Plenty of loos for the site, and a nice communal area with some tables, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and microwave. A power cable in the tent was a great help too. Andy was really helpful and text instructions to ensure easy access to site on the morning of our visit and was on hand to show us around when we arrived. We stayed with a friend and her young children ans a base for a day out the nivht after our stay and all had a great time. Would definitely visit again.
