Find your happy place at Camping at The Cottage of Content, a rural campsite in the grounds of a Warwickshire pub on the peaceful banks of the river Avon. Set in the small village of Barton, a mile to the south of the amenities of Bidford-on-Avon, this family-friendly spot is well placed for guests looking to explore the Cotswolds National Landscape and Stratford-upon-Avon. Set in quiet green grounds a short stroll from the water's edge, the pitches here have lots of handy facilities including a launderette, a washing-up area, a wifi service, chemical disposal points and modern showers and toilets. Staying in the grounds of a pub also brings an added bonus, of course – namely easy access to food and drinks. And this particular pub is well set up for such things, with a cosy bar serving real ales, a spacious beer garden and a dining area serving up traditional pub meals. Dogs are welcome to join you, as are kids – there’s a play area outside, along with a bouncy castle throughout the summer. Inside, a pool table provides space for a bit of gentle competition. This riverside location is a good one for fishing and riverside walks – to reach the larger village of Bidford-on-Avon, just take the footpath opposite the site for a 10-minute walk along the river. After crossing the old stone bridge you'll have access to more dining options, convenience stores and a small but well-stocked supermarket (a handy place for supplies if you’ve decided to do a barbecue back at base).

Liked Nice setting

Disliked Only one shower and one toilet!! This isn't really acceptable for a site with so many pitches. The pitches are very close together. It could be nice with the surroundings but I wouldn't stay again. Also the form I was required to complete prior to arrival was irritating.

Liked Pitch 39 with a tent box and additional seating tent. Pitch size excellent, sunny pitch. All pitches easy access. Friendly site

Disliked Only one shower and one toilet in ladies and men’s blocks. As site wasn’t too busy this wasn’t a problem however could be if the site was busy.

Disliked Only one shower and one toilet, often lacking toilet roll and soap.

No hot water for dishes on several of the days of our stay

Liked Spacious grass pitches, with electricity & water

Disliked A van arrived late at night parked next to us very noisy!! Toilets and showers quite dirty could do with a freshen up ! No toilet roll in the toilets wasn’t what we expected!

Liked Great stopover for Midlands / NEC. Super little pub with good food and beer. Landlord couldn’t have been more helpful

Disliked Quite a narrow entrance beside pub to camping area so be a bit challenging for very big motorhomes. Was fine for my LWB Crafter though and medium sized Mags.

Liked Spacious pitches with water and electric hook up on each pitch!
The pub was lovely and staff super friendly, excited to go back in the warmer weather so we can enjoy live music outside!

Disliked Shower wasn't overly big and not the easiest when washing your kids, but we made do :)

Getting out to explore on foot is a great idea, whether you just take a stroll to one of the other pubs in the group, take a woodland walk in the Heart of England Forest (five minutes' drive) or find scenic trails in the Cotswolds National Landscape (about 20 minutes' drive). Bidford Grange Golf Course (five minutes) is also on hand for a bit of outdoor exercise. Planning to soak up a bit of the local heritage?
