General
- Working farm campsite at the foot of Wenlock Edge
- Miles of National Trust and wildlife walks from the site entrance
- Coarse fishing pools, free wifi and home-produced farm meats available
250 acres of Shropshire countryside, spectacular views from the Stretton Hills to the Wrekin, miles of walks straight from the site, and all a smooth 10 minutes’ drive from Ironbridge Gorge and 20 from Shrewsbury: location lovers should very much like Lower Hill Camp Site.
Family-run by Rita and her team, friendly and popular Lower Hill Camp is a working farm with a menagerie of animals to see (and a good selection of sausages and burgers to buy for the firepit or barbie) and plenty more wild animals including deer and badgers in the surrounding countryside. Miles of National Trust and wildlife walks start from the site entrance; if you’re a type who goes the distance, the Severn Way is within easy reach.
The farm has coarse fishing pools available for guests: the campsite pool by the farmhouse, and the wood pool at the lower end of the site, suitable for more earnest anglers and stocked with large carp, bream, tench, roach, gudgeon, barbel and perch.
Farm facilities include toilets, showers with hot water, free wifi and ice pack freezing.
