  • Well-maintained site between Oswestry and Shrewsbury, off the A5
  • Within 20 minutes' drive of Oswestry, Shrewsbury and Wroxeter
  • Pool table, dog walk, showers, toilets and launderette
You’ll be tickled pink with a stay at Cranberry Moss Caravan Park, a sweet site in rural Shropshire. First up, it's surrounded by the peaceful county betwixt England and Wales that’s long been a bolthole for those seeking quiet rural times: even the invading Romans escaped here in between all that empire building… Next up, this is a well placed site for getting out and about among Shropshire’s activities and attractions – of which there are many, for the county’s gentle pace doesn’t mean a lack of stuff to do. Far from it: from Cranberry Moss you can roll along to world-famed attractions like Ironbridge Gorge, the Saxon – and Tudor – country town of Shrewsbury, and hikes or gentle strolls aplenty among the Long Mynd, Stretton Hills and the Wrekin, all part of the Shropshire Hills of Outstanding Natural Beauty. All this is most easily accessed, as the site is just off the A5 in a handy spot between Oswestry (15 minutes’ drive) and Shrewsbury (20 minutes). For times when you’re not out roaming, there’s a pool table and a dog walk area where canines can stretch their paws. Everyday needs are easily sorted here too, as the amenities include showers, toilets, a washing-up area and a launderette – these last two with spectacular Shropshire views to make your tasks less tiresome.

What customers say

A lovely, quiet spot with spot-on facilities (showers have tunes!). Pitches are grand and the staff are sound. Handy for seeing the sights and good value. Any old Wi-Fi worries? Sorted now, apparently.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Lovely friendly run site. Easy to get to arrivals and get the info for your stay. We had a brilliant grass electric pitch which was huge (no 19). Nice that there’s an enclosed dog walk area and also a bridle path at the entrance to the site.
Facilities very clean and everything you need.
The little bar was open when we stayed but we didn’t visit.
Such a friendly and welcoming site would highly recommend.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Spacious pitches, spotless facilities, friendly staff, secure dog trail. Welcoming atmosphere. Really nice site with beautiful flowers. The lilac smells wonderful.
Close to Shrewsbury and Oswestry do a good base for days out.

Disliked Having to get out of car to undo the chain at the gate each time we arrived and left.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Spotless facilities, warm and friendly welcome! Nothing to much trouble. Pitches brilliant sizes, our group of 3 familys, 2 vans and one tent could all pitch together which was brilliant.

Disliked Could benefit from a small park for children to play at other than that it was perfect.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked An easy check in with Anthony at reception to see us in and explain where everything is ,etc
Our pitch was hard standing/grass and was flat and level, spacious.
The shower/toilet block are clean and acceptable with plenty of room to move, hang cloths , with a push shower with lovely hot water and plenty of time before a push is needed again. Main gates are shut all the time,.on our visit had to remember a padlock code to let yourself in and out, but are awaiting for arrival of an electric one

.there is a bar, but was not open on our
visit.
Easy location to get to just off the A5.
Went to Shrewsbury and parked .Just off Kingsland bridge on the street with pay and display...get there for 9.30 for an easy parking.

Disliked Nothing on my part

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Convenient location, flat pitch(es) and wildlife. Squirrels, spotted woodpecker etc. Showers despite being press button timed not short duration.

Disliked Not much really. The gates were being sorted and moved further in as we left (not enough room to get your caravan clear of the road).

Local attractions

Shropshire’s absolutely stacked with things to do – outdoorsy activities, museums, castles, arty attractions, theatres, shops… If you’re blinded by choice or need a bit of inspiration, who better to ask than the folk on site, local experts who’ll happily dole out a bit of advice. Among the top picks they might point you towards are the splendid estates of Attingham Park (20 minutes’ drive), a National Trust property where you can paddle canoes or frolic in the Field of Play, and Weston Park (40 minutes), to stroll through gardens designed by the famed Capability Brown. Those Roman visitors left a bit of stuff behind when they moved on, and you can see their style on a trip to Wroxeter Roman City (20 minutes). This area was central to more recent history too – notably at Ironbridge (35 minutes), birthplace of the Industrial Revolution and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site packed with fab museums and family-friendly attractions. If you’re in the company of kids (or indeed grownups) fascinated by all things that move, pack them into the car for the 40-minute drive to see the planes at the Royal Air Force Museum or to take a steam-driven ride on the Severn Valley Railway from Bridgnorth.
