Nantclimbers Woodland Camping Huts: Badger hut

General

  • Peaceful park with heated microlodges set around a woodland pond
  • Wildlife haven five minutes' drive from Ellesmere's lake
  • Picnic bench, fridge, electricity and lockable doors for each lodge

Remember when you were teeny and used to dream of finding a snug hideaway in the woods… where no-one could find you and your fellow bandits? Might the urge to escape with a select band of outlaws still surge up you occasionally? Yes? Then family-friendly Nantclimbers Woodland Camping Huts in Shropshire is a stonking site for your hideaway needs: tiny, peaceful and made up of snug camping microlodges set around a woodland pond… you'll be as free as a bird.

Speaking of birds, there are loads of them – and accompanying beasts – to spot in the adjoining woodland: sit around the campfire to listen to owls hooting at night, or keep your eyes peeled for badgers, polecats, squirrels and foxes. You might also see a kestrel or buzzard or two, but do remember to look up…

The spankingly clean and well-maintained microlodges at Nantclimbers all come with bunk beds, table, bench, electricity, fridge and lockable doors: bring your own bedding to snuggle down in.

Guests are welcome to cart along their own cooking equipment, and campfires are allowed at designated times in the firepits; barbecues are also welcome as long as they’re kept off the ground. Each microlodge comes with its own picnic bench overlooking the water and car parking is a short stroll away.

Amenities are kept to the highest standards so that no stress spoils your hideaway: the toilet and shower block has lashings of hot water, with a washing up area added too. There's a real tucked-away adventure to be had here, so the track to the huts is best suited to 4x4s (other vehicles may be taken along the track at the owners' own risk).

We like everything about Nantclimbers. This was our second time here and it won’t be our last.
The location is totally off the grid, but only an hour away from our home, so you feel a million miles away. The cabins are totally engulfed by beautiful trees so it’s peaceful and quiet. We’ve always been surrounded by lovely people who appreciate that peace and quiet too.
The kids were made up with the new addition of a home made rope swing :)
The cabins are always well kept and clean and there’s plenty of space. It is camping but with a more sturdy accommodation so do take all your camping essentials.
The fire pit is brilliant for cooking on and having camp fires. There’s is wood kindly provided but so take your own.
Toilet and shower facilities are great and are always clean.
There’s nothing we don’t like about Nantclimbers :)

A lovely spot, secluded with only a handful of cabins. Clean toilets and showers. Wood to use for fires too. We really enjoyed our stay and our 7 and 3 year old loved it, they were able to walk around safely, only concern was there was a smaller lake that wasn’t fenced off, so with younger ones I was a little worried. The bunk beds had a very low side so we didnt feel safe enough to put the children up on the top, but we put beds on the floor, it wasn’t a big problem and easily rectified. All in all a great weekend!

Absolutely amazing wkend break with the children of 9 and 10 .They were so happy playing in the woods running round and making new friends .The 2 dogs enjoyed the out doors and so did we.The fire pit in the evening with plenty of logs to burn lovley BBQ too .
The accommodation was bigger than I thought it would be lovley and clean too.We will be returning very soon .

    Disliked:

Only concern was the side of the bunk bed as we felt it needed to be higher as risks of falls. We put the mattress on the floor just in case to avoid any unnecessary falls .
