Unwind in your private hot tub at The Chilterns View, then stoke up the barbecue – or fire up the pizza oven – in an outdoor party area with Bluetooth speakers, hammocks, dining tables and a firepit. All with a backdrop of England’s cracking countryside… Sound good? Then bring yourself and up to nine of your pals to this safari lodge with five bedrooms (two kingsize and three twins), one bathroom with a shower and toilet, a large open-plan living, and a dining area with a logburning stove. There’s also a kitchenette with a fridge-freezer and countertop cooker, microwave and toaster. Not that you absolutely have to do any cooking while here. Several pubs serving food are nearby, including an inn 20 minutes walk in the classic country village of Ewelme. As well as wandering here, find longer paths for strolls through the Oxfordshire landscape, including the ancient Ridgeway, the Chiltern Way national trail and the Thames path from Wallingford (15 minutes), a town with several shops, pubs, bars and restaurants. Oxford is half an hour’s drive from this site.
