Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Lots of facilities, close to water park

Disliked: The toilets were disgusting, constantly overflowing and on one evening there was no running water at all - no way to wash hands, flush, shower or do the washing up!

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: This site has so much potential. Which makes the negatives even more annoying. Roads in to the site are all good for towing. Pitch sizes are good (we had hardstanding). A good set of activities in the country park just opposite the site. Which is a 10 minute walk or you can pay to park there. As it was raining we spent a fair bit parking.. Staff in shop friendly.

Disliked: Where do I start.. The rest of our feedback unfortunately completely override the positives. On the arrival email, we were told our pitch was regatta view 43.. after driving around looking for our pitch on regatta view (with a caravan) there were no signs to help... I managed to catch reception (when they were open, which is not always easy, as they seemed to be closed alot..) and was told the whole area was regatta view and we would be down lagoon avenue. Why they don't have the name of the road/area instead on arrival instructions I dont know. There was no map included in the comms which I found odd, If you want easy checking in, then better signposts and instructions are needed. We saw numerous other people driving around for the same reason throughout the the whole time we stayed. I have never been to such a badly run and poorly cleaned site with such disgusting facilities, they are not fit for purpose. Not only were they really dated, which is fine if working and clean. But, the Bathrooms and toilets were never properly cleaned. The floors were disgusting, toilets blocked and the same muddy footprints across the floors for days.. hundreds of dead flies on the ceiling of the showers. Urine on the floor of bathroom (ladies) No dog bins on site.. Waste water drains are also drinking water taps... Shower cubicals are very very small and everything gets wet as there are no shower doors/ curtains. Only 1 toilet block in use for the whole site, the newer block is completely closed due to a pump issue. The working toilets were old and they were disgustingly dirty constantly throughout our 4 night stay, my kids got locked in one (poor/ old locks on doors). There are 3 elsan points for the whole site. 2 of which were out of order. One leaking on to a camping pitch, the other had the pump issue same as toilet. The one working one was bang smack in the middle of the pods so the lucky people in the 'deluxe' pods near by could sit outside and have a great view of everyone emptying their toilets. 🤢 Kids playground had a boarded up section as it was broken and old. Only 4 sinks to wash up in and 2 had no hot water to them. They were in a disgusting state. Mens showers had a couple out of action. The whole site has potential but terribly thought through and the owners appear to simply not invest and instead rely on money coming in from people visiting the watersports opposite. I would definitely not recommend and most certainly will not return. Everyone we encountered at the site seemed to be saying the same, and looking at other reviews there is a very common theme. Simply a disgusting site. such a shame there is no care or investment. Just greed.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: The site has definite potential and is perfectly located for the water sports.

Disliked: Arrived with no staff at stated check in time and couldn't find our pitch. No instructions as to where vehicle goes eg. Left or right. The water sports were brilliant, we did everything. I am currently in the hospital with my daughter due to the filthy water riddled in bacteria. That waiver is serious and a quick Google of past news stories tells you that water is NOT safe for humans and they know it! It is laughable they tell you to ensure you thoroughly clean yourself after being in in the water. The showers turn off after three seconds at the camp and the water is arctic at the centre! The is a lack of security on site, it is conpletely unmanned most of the time people were putting the code in for others arriving The absolutely vile and disgusting showers and toilets made me feel ill. I watched the 'cleaner' unblock a toilet of excrement with the mop and then continue to mop the floor and showers, only down the middle of the floor though, they did not at any point mop the edges. That dirt has been grained in for a long, long time. They use the same cloth to wipe the toilet seat, handles taps and sinks. I nearly vomitted. We left early. Genuinely cannot cope with such a lack of basic hygiene. I have a severely disabled child and booked specifically seeing the incorrectly listed disabled facilities. There are no disabled showers, no changing places, nothing. A disgusting lie to say they cater for those with disabilities.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Good sized pitches. 9:30pm curfew enforced by security. Security visible on site. Plenty of walks nearby. Clean site - very little litter. Nice park area.

Disliked: Difficult to find pitch (reception said that there should have been a map attached to the email, but several people hadn’t had one). Shower block was tired - showers needed one and on them at all times to get water! Shop was card only with very few essentials available. No recycling facilities.

Liked: Nothing

Disliked: Site, the toilets were broken was told they would be repaired Tuesday as Bank hol Monday. But weren’t then on older reviews had been broken ages. So only toilets open were too busy you for amount of people on site never cleaned. The shop was hardly ever open, when it was the lady was missable. Would never return or recommend

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Location is good. Easy access to Nottingham and Pierre point country park.

Disliked: I understand they can’t help the weather but they could at least look to aerate the field, lots of standing water from an average amount of rain the fell. Toilet block on overflow field not in use all week. We were told bank holiday Monday it would be fixed tomorrow (Tuesday), if nobody could come out today with it being bank holiday. This never happened and remained shut all week! Full site then using the only other toilet and shower blocked was obviously going to result in increased foot flow, lack of facilities and dirtier conditions. No additional measures were observed to have been put in place to adjust for this. The toilets and showers were filthy all week with the bins never emptied, evidenced by the same apparent rubbish in them daily. There was also the same dirt marks on the wall and toilet tissue strewn across the floor all week so if anybody has apparently cleaned management should be asking some serious questions. Some of the lights in the showers also didn’t even work and the press on the shower if it even did work lasted just seconds on some of them. I am also aware that in the female toilet block they all blocked up which left them all completely out of use for a period of time. All of the increased foot flow, lack of cleaning and blocked toilets resulted in a horrid pungent smell coming from the toilets and showers and the only thing I was glad about being pitched so far away from them. I would not have liked to have been pitched immediately next to them as some people were, being subjected to the smell and meaning people were constantly walk inches away from peoples tents to access the facilities. Washing up facilities although present did not produce water warm enough to effectively clean pots and pans and remove dirt and grease. The shop, that advertises opening times on a plaque outside, was hardly ever opened. It remaind shut all day on some days too, I imagine this was to avoid the numerous complaints I can only expect they would have received by the sheer lack of facilities or disregard to cleanliness. It was quite apparent from our stay that actually the management dont particularly care about your stay or ensuring a quality customer experience and instead just care about making taking your money with as little expenditure as possible. Granted this is not the most expensive site we have stayed at but neither is it one of the cheapest. I can however say, this is quite possibly the worst we have stayed at for all of the above reasons. There appears to be no pride for your site or anybody taking ownership or responsibility which is a shame due to its endless possibilities and potential as well as the fantastic location for both the city centre and the watersport activities.
