Liked: Quiet spot, lovely walks, lots of pubs and restaurants nearby. Text from owners was welcoming and gave us all the info we needed, and they came to say hello and said to phone if we needed anything. Loved the cows and the Guinea Fowl, fabulous sunsets, bird song, peace and tranquility.
Disliked: We were the only pitch on the camping field. If it were busy I'm not sure how everyone would cope with one shower for ladies and 2 loos. 1 shower for men, a urinal and 1 loo. Each time my husband took a shower the lights went out on the timer and it was pitch black. On the whole we enjoyed the stay -but have paid less and stayed at better sites.

Liked: Lovely friendly campsite. Lovely views annd a lovely pub just next door. Our large van sometimes struggles with campsites, however this site were accommodating from the minute we arrived. They moved us to the biggest available pitch so we had more room to park up. The pitch sizes are huge unlike most sites were greed has took over and they cram you in together. The couple running the camp were super friendly and replied to any text message query’s straight away, helped us source some fire wood and borrowed us some tools we’d forgotten to bring. The coffee shop on the front is a lovely extra we enjoyed a caramel iced coffee from there and the lady was so lovely too. We Will definitely be revisiting here.

Liked: Lovely site by the River Trent behind a great pub serving excellent choice of food and drinks. Pleasant walks alongside the river and chances to watch boats going through the lock. Been on site a few times now and every time there are improvements. Will be back again.

Liked: We loved this small site. All the pitches were well spread out so you had plenty of room. Our pitch overlooked a large field with cows going about their daily business. We enjoyed watching them and a buzzard that was constantly getting mobbed by the crows. The site is well placed for walking being near the river and we found a lovely circular walk, approximately 8 miles, which took us around the countryside and riverside. The facilities on site were good - the washing up station is covered, the loos clean and the showers hot. Lots of restaurants near by too.

Liked: Plenty of space on the pitch. Bench and table available to use. Proximity to walks along the river and pub next door. Only one shower however water was hot.
Disliked: Dog poo on the pitch - no good enough either by previous campers or owner not checking over the pitch. Toilet block quite tired.
