Liked: The food in the pub - wonderful. Only 2 caravans there so it was very quiet
Disliked: The pub isn’t open enough

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review. You came in and ate with us on the Saturday evening, we were open, we were open on Sunday lunch time but you went out so did not come into the pub you did sit in the sunshine when you got back from wherever you went and I do not blame you. I am not a drinking venue, so as I own this business if I have no customers in, I close when the last customer leaves or no bookings for the restaurant I close as I am sure you would too

Liked: Good size pitch and you picked your own.Pub food was excellent and reasonably priced. Staff friendly toilets and shower where clean. shower was hot heated towel rail too.
Disliked: That pub only opened in the evening from 6.30.

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review. I am only open from 6.30 in the evening because I am not a passing trade pub and most come to eat and not drink. Thank you again

Electric gravel touring pitch
Liked: Great food, flat pitch (on gravel) very clean site, good showers, clear instructions on choosing pitch/wifi/water & power supply. When booking its made very clear that you don't meet & greet hosts and also the pub opening hours, so no complaint there. Will definitely stay again.
Disliked: One small point for your consideration, I know you have to do site maintenance and guess Monday is the quietest day, but cutting the grass from 6pm till nearly 9:30pm (in the dark) will probably get some people complaining! (As only guests on site we just turned the tv up, so no problem.)

From the manager: Thank you for your great review I really appreciate it. I did note your concern about the campsites grass being cut. Yes Sunday evenings usually the site is empty or nearly empty. That evening was the first cut we had been able to do because the site had been waterlogged and I rely on a really great local person to come and cut the site for me when he can because getting reliable tradesman is so difficult in this area. So sorry about that but it is a job that has to be done. Thank you again

Liked: toilet shower was adequate and clean. the pub was good when open food was very good nice and hot good sizes very tasty the waitress was very friendly and helpful .we arrived on the monday didnt actually see any one until thursday evening
Disliked: on arrival no contact with anybody just a few instructions on a board only 3 pitches on hard standing (which was ballast ) this was noisy to walk on and caused the dogs next door and in the pub to to start barking so going to the shower or anything was awkward. could do with better signage as i could not find where sink waste went when i asked was told it goes in chemical waste

From the manager: Thank you for your review. I am very pleased you enjoyed the food and the pub when open. My details do say it is self check in and you choose your own pitch the instructions on the board, we feel, are more than adequate there is also a phone number if you were finding them difficult to understand. I am not a large site with hundreds of pitches who have a man in a shed checking people in and out. When you booked it says Gravel Electric Touring Pitch and that is exactly what they are, it does not say hard standing. The opening times for the pub are also in the details. My dogs, if my dogs start to bark I call them in, I am always very aware. The signage I think we have enough and they are quite easy to understand. Waste water, all waste water which includes chemical goes into the chemical and waste water unit which is signed, we are on septic tanks which are emptied on a regular basis, we do not have main drainage. You felt the pitch fee (large pitches), were too expensive, well lets go through this I do not charge for an awning, (which I know you did not have), I do not charge for parking your car, you have free use of the showers at anytime no switch off button so you have to keep pressing it to complete your shower, heating in the shower/toilet, plus toilet tissue plus hand towels plus hand soap, there is no cap on the amount of electricity you use in your van which (I am sure you did) running your heating etc. My showers & toilets are cleaned everyday and twice a day when we are busy. Wishing you many happy holidays
