  • Adults-only Lincolnshire site 10 minutes’ walk from North Somercotes
  • Donna Nook five minutes’ drive and Mablethorpe Beach 20 minutes
  • Fishing lakes, tackle/bait shop, basics store; pubs 10 minutes’ walk
Superbly set up for coarse fishing it may be, but Oasis Lakes and Holidays, just outside North Somercotes on Lincolnshire’s north-east coast, has much more going for it than that. It’s an adults-only site for starters, it’s small, it’s family-run and it’s well established. And the list goes on. The nine-acre site is set on the edge of a wildlife conservation forest, with lots of stunning views over the fishing lakes and the promise of colourful sunsets on clear evenings. Modern and luxurious shower facilities are spotless and remain that way as they are checked regularly, and you have a decent selection of drinks, snacks, toiletries and barbecue coal in the shop. A ten-minute stroll takes you into North Somercotes and two pubs, a restaurant and takeaways as well a general store and small supermarket. But back to those on-site fishing facilities. There are three well-stocked fishing lakes, where you can (hopefully) catch common carp up to around 20lbs, and a tackle shop selling bait, hooks, line, rigs, rods and reels.

What customers say

Seaside site gets a thumbs up for its calm vibe, spotless showers & roomy, level pitches with own water. Friendly owners Jo & Karl are a hit! Village shops/pubs nearby, yet feels a world away. Great fishing too. Minor grumbles about slow hot water & a bit of a trek to loos.

Liked Everything! This small, friendly and immaculately kept site was just what we needed. Only 25 odd pitches, adults only and so thoughtfully set out. The 3 fishing lakes are well kept, well stocked and after more than 10 years of one sea fishing, husband has a great day coarse fishing with lots of catches and all very nice healthy fish. Karl and Jo are the perfect hosts. The individual shower and toilets are brilliant and it’s clear to see a lot of thought has gone into their design. The surrounding area is lovely. I’m a road cyclist and had a happy few hours exploring whilst husband was fishing. The village has pubs, fish and chips, Italian and Chinese takeaway and 2 shops and the sea is a short walk away. We had a blast and will definitely be back. Thanks!!!

Disliked Nothing!! How could you dislike this place??

Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Possibly the quietist most serene place we have stayed. Small site, run by the loveliest people, in a good location. Fantastic if you fish, well stocked and kept lakes. Reasonable sized pitches and electricity pre paid on an app, which was good. Cost about £1.50 a day. Local pubs within walking distance and small shop. Mablethorpe 20 mins in the car.

Disliked Can't really find fault but maybe a bit more lighting up to the toilet block at nighttime. Owners already addressing the need for a toilet on the touring field.

Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Lovely well kept site with level pitches with electricity and water, it was peaceful despite a nearby road. The showers and toilets were spotless and very roomy with individual bathrooms. Close to shops and pubs that we were able to walk to in 10 minutes.Friendly owners and very good value, we would stay again.

Disliked The hot water tap in the pot washing area was extremely slow. A fair walk to the toilets.

Thank you for your lovely review, It was really nice to meet you both.

Although the toilets are only a short walk we appreciate this is a little awkward at night time, this has never been a problem as most of our customer have toilets themselves, however we are noticing a that we are getting a lot more camper vans. We have already started to install a toilet next tot he waste area :-)

I appreciate your comment on the washing up tap and I have tried to balance it our so its a bit faster.

Glad you enjoyed our site, we hope to see you again soon :-)

Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch

Liked A wonderful mix of well maintained grounds and natural habitat. The welcome and advice of Karl and Jo is just the right balance of friendly and respectful communication, wish all site owners had their kindly professionalism The site truly is an oasis of calm. Close to the village which has a good Italian restaurant , a nice pub and well stocked shop however the site makes you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere … perfect

Disliked Nothing , facilities clean and well maintained, surrounding lovely no complaints.

Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch

Liked What a little gem of a campsite, Lovely warm welcome from Jo and Karl on arrival who showed us newly refurbished showers and toilet block at reception. Very good layout with separate shower cubicles so you don’t get your clothes wet when showering. They gave us a choice of pitches overlooking the lakes, individual water supply and pay as you go electric nice touch as you only pay for what you use?.We only booked 3 nights but decided to stay another night. Excellent fishing on beautifully maintained lakes.Just wished I had a carp cradle and 42” net to have been able to fish the specimen lake, Definitely want to return soon? It’s just a 12 minute walk to the Bay Horse pub where a fish and chip van comes to the car park on Thursdays where you can sit in the large beer garden with a pint and enjoy your meal. This is one of the best set out sites we’ve been to and can’t wait to return here. Good luck with the ongoing projects and we’ll see you soon, Pete and Shirley.

Disliked Only dislike was one negative review. Not Deserved ???

Local attractions

Wildlife lovers can head for Donna Nook (five minutes’ drive), an area of low-lying land known for its abundant birdlife – and if you’re visiting in October, you may also get to see the colony of grey seals that gathers on the beach to breed. At other times of the year, seals can be more reliably seen in The Seal Sanctuary Wildlife Centre (15 minutes) along with other rescue animals including goats and otters. Days on the beach might include the seafront expanse at Mablethorpe (20 minutes), with its aquapark, seafront cycling routes and generous number of cafés and pubs. As well as a sweep of sand, Cleethorpes (half an hour) has a wonderfully restored Victorian-era pier, a golf course and ornamental gardens. Heading inland, the market town of Louth (20 minutes) is known for its antiques emporiums and indie boutiques. Don’t forget that the hills and vales of the Lincolnshire Wolds National Landscape (15 minutes) reveal scenic bike rides and walking trails, while there are more gentle strolls to be had in Hubbard’s Hills country park (25 minutes).
