Liked: Stayed at Poplar Farm over the bank holiday weekend in our camper van—this was a last-minute booking for us, but everything went really smoothly. The site was easy to find, with decent-sized roads and passing places where needed, and it’s well signposted on arrival.
The campsite is a lovely size—not too big, not too small—nice and peaceful. Our pitch was great, with hard standing for the van, water and electric hook-up, and a gravel area for an awning or car. Since the weather was nice, we just used our camping chairs and enjoyed the space.
The pub was a real bonus. Everyone was really friendly and chatty, and while we didn’t eat there, the food looked and smelled great—not expensive either. There’s even a free bouncy castle for the kids. We don’t have children ourselves, but it’s a brilliant extra if you do. Washing machine on site you buy tokens if required.
You can walk into Ingoldmells via the road (around 40–50 minutes) or take a quicker route over the fields (about 20–25 minutes)—just ask the bar staff for directions. We took our bikes and cycled it in 10–15 minutes max.
Toilets and showers are combined, which we prefer—everything was clean and well maintained.
Great location for star gazing, as it’s lovely and dark.
Overall, a fantastic site and we’ll definitely be back, thanks for a lovely stay :)
Disliked: Nothing to complain about

Liked: NEAT PITCHES NOTHING MORE UNFORTUNATELY
Disliked: NO STAFF ON SITE, IF THERE WAS AN EMERGENCY OR AN ISSUE OR QUESTION THERE IS NO ONE THERE. WE HAD TROUBLE BOOKING IN HAD TO CALL A FEW NUMBERS AS NO ONE WAS AT RECEPTION.
NO VOICEMAIL RECEIVED. NO WASHING UP FACILITIES AND NO RUBBISH DISPOSAL. THE WASHROOMS WERE AKWARD AS NO SHELFS OR SEATS TO PUT ANYTHING ON SO YOU HAVE TO PLACE YOU WASHBAG AND SHAMPOO ETC ON THE TOILET, OR THE FLOOR WHICH WERE NOT BEST CLEAN AND MANY UNITS HAD LACK OF TOILET ROLL. READING THE REVIEWS MANY PEOPLE HAVE MENTIONED THIS BUT SEEMS THEY HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING IMPROVE THESE ISSUES. WE STAYED 3 DAYS AND DID NOT SEE ANY STAFF DURING THIS TIME. DESPITE BEING LISTED THERE IS NO WIFI ON SITE.

Liked: Good access to the site, good security, pitch was easy to find and more than enough space to pitch up the caravan. The access to the water main, and the up hook up was very convenient and the added bonus of being able to pump into the main drain was good. Site was clean and tidy the onsite facilities were good.
Very peaceful and remote area with some fantastic views.
Disliked: Need more toilets.
