  • Well-maintained glamping site on the edge of the village of Wigtoft
  • Boston and RSPB Frampton Marsh within a 15-minute drive
  • Private bathroom, kitchen and living space for each unit
There really is green all around at Green Escapes – this Lincolnshire site is part of a working arable farm just outside the village of Wigtoft (15 minutes' drive from Boston) and it’s a peaceful place indeed, with open fields making up the majority of the immediate surroundings. The famously flat landscapes of south Lincolnshire lend themselves to nice easy countryside outings too, whether you’re planning rural rambles, bike rides or days of birdwatching (in fact this is a particularly good spot for birders, with bird hides by a farm reservoir half a mile away and RSPB Frampton Marsh a 15-minute drive). Market towns, beaches and historic attractions can all be on your to-do list here too – as can visits to Sandringham Estate to see why Queen Elizabeth II loved the place so much. Back closer to base there are several cosy pubs and places to eat in the surrounding villages, although your accommodation also has a well-equipped kitchen and barbecue if you’d rather sort your own meals (perhaps to eat out in the fresh air if the weather allows?) All the units are self contained so each one has its own bathroom and living space as well as comfy bedrooms with bedding provided.

Local attractions

Birdwatchers, don't forget your binoculars – there's often plenty to see around here, whether you keep it local by walking to a nearby farm reservoir to hang out in one of the bird hides or head off to RSPB Frampton Marsh (15 minutes’ drive) to spy on lapwings, avocets and redshanks. There’s often plenty of wildlife to spot around the 27 acres of Jenny’s Wood (10 minutes) as well, or you could venture up to the Lincolnshire Wolds (40 minutes) to see what you can see while walking. Other outdoor trips nearby might take you to see the unusual red-brick Tattershall Castle (half an hour), to take a stroll around Sandringham Estate (50 minutes) or to spend some time on the beach in Skegness (50 minutes) or Heacham (an hour) – the latter one of the few places on the east coast where you can watch the sunset over the sea. For town time, it’s a 15-minute drive to Boston or 25 minutes to Sleaford, both vibrant market towns. King’s Lynn and Lincoln are both within an hour's drive too, and you might just pick up a bargain or two at Springfields Outlet Shopping & Leisure (20 minutes’ drive).

Maple Lodge 2 bedroom shepherd's hut (hot tub)

Liked: Super quiet location with a private garden and hot tub. The welcome pack was lovely with little touches like marshmallows and chocolates to use around the fire pit. Great place to spend time with the family.
Kids were super happy that they had wifi too

Disliked: Nothing
