What customers say
A grand, well-kept spot with plenty of room on the pitches. Top-notch, spotless showers and loos. Staff are grand, helpful folk, and it's handy for the Forest of Dean. The shop and cafe are a bonus. Peaceful and good for the family. A few mentioned the road in and queues sometimes.

Great small site
Electric optional grass pitch
Liked Large pitches, small site, quiet, easy walking distance to Coleford town.
Disliked Portaloos in camping field were unclean on first night closed the rest of my stay (4 nights). Extra costs for electric and wifi. No one around to check me in.

From the manager: I am very sorry about the portaloos - mortified in fact - they were meant to have been collected before your arrival and were on site for a private function earlier in the week. As soon as I realised they had not been collected, I locked them, as they were not intended for use by our campers.
I am pleased to see that you gave us a 5/5 for cleanliness though and am happy that our toilets and showers were up to their usual standard.
We are only a small family runs site so it is not possible to man reception 24 hours. When guests arrive after hours, we leave a notice with directions to their pitch, along with our phone number if any assistance is needed – we live on site, so we’re always close by if needed.
To clarify, there was no extra charge for the electric - please check your original booking on Pitch Up - you had not added electric to your booking and therefore had not paid for it so we charged you when you were here even reducing the cost as your usage was so low.
Lastly, we’ve found it necessary to charge for Wi-Fi to help prevent heavy downloads (like movies) from slowing it down for everyone. I hope that makes sense!
Thanks again for your feedback, and I hope we get the chance to welcome you back soon!
Lovely clean site…
Electric optional hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked Lovely clean site
Disliked Setting up the electric and then only last until midnight and cost me £10 - we only used the kettle once as the van had solar for lights

From the manager: Hi Teresa
Thank you for your feedback. We’ve recently installed and are currently trialling new MetPow meters with the aim of moving to a pay-per-kWh system next season, instead of the current flat rate of £6 per night (not £10). We believe this will be a fairer approach, especially for guests like yourself who use only a small amount of electricity.
The system operates via an app, and it’s possible that you may have accidently set the departure time to midnight instead of midday. If so, the power would have switched off automatically, but you could have reactivated it through the app.
We really value your feedback, as it will help us improve the instructions and guidance we provide for using the new system.
I am pleased to see that otherwise you loved the site and hope you will consider returning to try out the app with clearer instructions in place.
Best regards
Maureen
