What customers say
Secluded adult-only site with gorgeous views. Well-kept pitches & a sound owner. Basic but clean loos & hot showers. Great spot for walks, with a good pub nearby. Mostly quiet, though farm/plane noise sometimes. Good value, no-frills camping.

From the manager: There's a running theme I've noticed when the weather turns cold and wet. We get a touch of the old "picky knickers" in our reviews. Nothing terrible, just niggling at little things.
"Showers were small" I've also noticed its quite common for someone to pick up on something written in a previous review and it becomes an issue out of nowhere. Same showers we've had for years now, never had a complaint about them being too small... then all of a sudden two within a few weeks of each other.
We provide good, clean, free to use showers.
"Bins could be better" a pretty useless comment. Better how? Are they emptied when full? Yup! Are they segregated for Recycling? Yup! Is it all kept pretty clean and tidy? Yup!
I did notice that, from the other sites you've left reviews for, we're the cheapest and most basic Campsite you've used. Clearly having a preference for a more commercial grade, which we clearly aren't and don't profess to be.
I hope this response has been of more use to potential guests than the actual review 😅
If you want to get away from the fussy pants brigade, get booked in here. We're open all year round.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch (maximum 7 metres)
Liked Delightful setting with pub and bus very close. Just be aware the pub doesn’t open on a Monday or Tuesday. Lot of nice walks straight from the campsite. Facilities are perfectly adequate but basic.

Non-electric grass pitch
Liked Small and private. Clear (and reasonable) rules to ensure everyone has a quiet and relaxing stay. Good communication with Steve the owner.
Disliked Very basic facilities. 2nd shower in men’s far too small to get changed (no seat) with a killer shower curtain that tries to smother you when you’re showering :-D
Nowhere to wash pots.

From the manager: There is a Potwashing Station, its right in front of the Toilet and Shower Block. Can't miss it. I even pointed it out to Scott when he arrived.
First complaint we've had about no seat in the Shower. Scott was in his early 30s. There are people in their 70s that use these showers and get on just fine. Free to use by the way.
At the point you're complaing about a killer Shower Curtain.....pfff, I think we've had Mr Bean on site.
The good thing about this review is it shows how genuine our reviews are. Even when they're totally inaccurate Pitchup will let it stay. I asked Pitchup to amend the comment about us having no Potwash Station. Pitchup refused to amend the comment despite us having the same Potwash Station for the last 4 years... you'd think someone else would have complained by now if we didnt have one. It appears you can pretty much write whatever you like. Although I have been reprimanded for calling someone an Imbecile before. That got removed pretty quick.
