What customers say
Idyllic spot with gorgeous views, perfect for walkers and exploring Castleton. Guests rave about the welcoming hosts, spotless facilities, and tranquil vibe. Basic amenities are provided, with an honesty box, fire pits, and farm animals a hit. Most pitches are sloped but manageable. Occasional facility limits during peak times reported.

Ok if you don’t mind sleeping on a slant,
Non-electric grass campervan pitch (sloping)
Liked Loads of space and not busy even for the holidays.
Disliked The site is really slanted and not really suitable for camping on. The ground was also super soft and muddy so was not suitable for us and we ended up leaving a night early. Men’s toilets were also not well kept.

Liked Fantastic location, nice welcome. Facilities are basic as described but very well maintained and lit. Lovely addition having the farm animals nearby. Cute little chicken coming to say hello.

Beautiful location.…
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (sloping)
Liked Beautiful location.
Disliked Noisy neighbours - there’s always an inconsiderate family who can’t keep themselves to themselves and expect others to suffer.
Toilets had muddy wet floors throughout our stay.

Great scenery all around the campsite, ideal for a short stay
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (sloping)
Liked The view around was amazing. Close to quaint towns with lots and lots of pubs. Would visit again on a sunny day.
Disliked 1) Only two toilet stalls for the entire campsite. I'd avoid this place in high season.
2) There was an amber storm warning across North England and Scotland, so the weather was far from suitable for camping. We managed to set up the tent, but we ended up packing everything back up and leaving soon afterwards. Many others were doing the same because of the conditions. I really wish the campsite hadn’t accepted new bookings that day (we booked on the day of travel). It would have saved us the time and money spent getting to the Peak District, which isn’t exactly the easiest place to reach.
3) The slope isn't slight.

Excellent site in a perfect location, great value for money
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (sloping)
Liked Location was perfect, easy to walk straight onto the trails for mam tor and ridges, facilities were good, plenty of space and freedom to pitch where you want, views were amazing, toilets were regularly cleaned
Disliked Only thing: sometimes you were waiting in a queue for the toilets or washing up as there was one washing up sink and two female toilets compared to the amount of people there. This couldn't be helped and it didn't negatively impact our stay, just remember to plan your toilet breaks or keep an eye out
