Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Second time we have stayed, we will be back. We don't usually revisit anywhere but this one is perfect for an ad-hoc night away.
Can't fault it, lovely facilities with the great new addition of hardstanding on the other touring pitches. Everything is wonderful clean and a fantastic amount of facilities considering it's quite a small site. Excellent value, great location, modern and very well maintained. Well lit for a night tine bathroom visit. Easy to access with text messages the day before with a gate code and pitch location.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Beautiful spot, easy to find and access with a friendly owner on site. Lovely facilities with fantastic extra little touches with things available to use in communal areas if required eg. Coffee, tea's, mugs, glasses, sheltered seating in the area with an excellent washing up facilities and games available to play. We also spotted shower gel etc. in a beautiful looking shower cubicle that we didn't use on this occasion. Lovely little pond and small woodland are for people to camp. We had lots of space so it felt very private. It is a small road that goes past the site so minimal road noise, we found it very peaceful and we had parked up closest to the entrance. 100% recommended, we don't often revisit a site but this might be an exception. You can tell the owner takes pride in their site and offering a great experience!
Disliked The only negative I could mention is that the pitchup ad is not doing this site justice. I'm sure it only mentions one toilet when there are 3 available and the are beautiful done!!! We were very impressed with the facilities here.

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite
Liked Plenty of flat space to find so didn't need to level the van. Convenient spot with surrounding shops and a gentle walk into the town for nice shops, cafes and pubs. Back to basics type of site which we enjoyed.

Primitive grass campervan campsite
Liked Excellent location, walkable position to the local shops and pubs etc. in Castleton. perfect for hiking in the local area. Beautiful spot! Nice modern toilet facilities and area for washing up. The little tuck shop with honesty box is a nice touch.
Disliked Slight slope on the field but we managed to find a level spot, other people in vans used levelling ramps. Just something to bare in mind and definitely not a criticism as this is the peak district so it is to be expected.

Primitive grass and earth campsite
Liked We stayed in our T4 here.
The guy who greeted us was super friendly and incredibly helpful. There were 3 different sections you could stay on which meant everyone was nicely spaced out. We walked to a local pub which was lovely too. Really peaceful a perfect place to recharge.
Others had complained about the facilities but we thought they were great, toilets, showers and a kitchen! What more do need? So don't be put off!!!
Disliked Nothing.

Liked Staff seemed like lovely people, toilet and shower facilities are great and good access to bins.
Disliked We didn't really like our spot in VW area, we felt a bit in the middle in a hashed together pitch with people all around us, we ideally prefer a little bit more privacy.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked What a wonderful welcome, made to feel right as home on this beautiful site, perfect hosts. We took on board the suggestion to walk up from the farm and take in the stunning views. We really enjoyed having the option of a fire pit pitch on arrival. Fantastic toilet and shower facilities, like the private units, rather than a toilet and shower block. We are always delighted when we can park alongside our pitch.

Liked Absolutely stunning views, the most beautiful tent pitch we have ever had! Everything was perfect for us. Loved how the pitches are spaced out, providing us with so much space from the other campers. Very small numbers on the site anyway. The shower and toilet facilities were good and we liked how it was all laid out in the barn area, with a sink that had Mountain drinking water!!! We also made use of the sheltered barn area to cook our evening meal on our little gas stove using the enormous table and chairs. I would recommend to anyone to come and stay here, you won't regret it, breathtaking! Beth was great too, very welcoming and pointed out landmarks that you could see from this magnificent location.
