General

  • Peaceful and well-maintained basic site within the hamlet of Harrowby
  • Three miles from Grantham and 45 minutes' drive from Lincoln
  • Wildlife pond and woodland camping area within the site

A serene and scenic site that’s often treated to spectacular sunsets – how splendid. Head three miles out of Grantham to get to Harrowby and the greenery of Herigerbi Park.

This peaceful, well-maintained site is on a one-acre slightly sloping paddock with woods all around and some fab views over the valley. There are regular appearances from the resident wildlife, and fish to be spotted in the site’s pond (they’re for ornament only though, mind you – no fishing here please).

For that relaxed rural vibe this has been kept as a basic site, with facilities stretching to one toilet and a wash-hand basin in a renovated barn with electric light. It's all nicely maintained nevertheless: the grass is mown every week and all is kept neat around the paddock and site; there's easy access too to the grounds via the five-bar gates directly off the road. You’re welcome to light up a barbie for sausage sizzles; a food shop is within a mile and handily open late daily.

First time camping with the kids (11yo and Twin 4yo boys). The site is in a beautiful and peaceful location where we enjoyed some country walks and a trip to Belton House. The site is secure and has a small woodland area where the children loved exploring, also the pond (fully fenced so children can’t get near the water) was a great feature. There is loads of space between pitches (4 in total) and the facilities were spotless and there has been a lot of hard work to make the spaces covid safe.
We hired a fire pit and it was perfect for toasting marshmallows and keeping us warm whilst sat out (remember to take your own fire wood).
The owner came to see us after we had set up (maintaining social distance and wearing a face covering) to make sure we had all we needed. We were also given a pot of Cherry Jam that was the most tasty jam I’ve ever eaten!!!
We will definitely be returning as it is the perfect space to spend some relaxing family time whilst knowing the children are safe.

Lovely quiet little site with clean facilities. Due to covid 19 there were only 3 pitches on the site at any time and it made it so much more peaceful. Lovely park and town a 5 to 10 min drive away & some beautiful views from walks on the farmers field nearby. Highly recommend.

Perfect for a covid get away. All the facilities were clean, spacing was excellent and the area is nice and secluded. There are lots of huge fields around so a perfect space for a wander. Also the site itself has a really pretty pond.

The owner came out to give a socially distanced hello and check I found everything I needed.

Overally: really top notch night away. Peaceful, banging sunset: would recommend.

This is a lovely little site. Near Grantham yet you still feel out in the countryside. This site has everything you need- very clean toilets and washing facilities. With lovely little touches of spare cloths and washing up liquid in case you forget or run out!
The site is fenced off all around the perimeter- the little ones can run about and you know they are safe. The pitch sizes are very big, so plenty of space to extra seating or children’s games.
The site is well maintained overall and our kids loved it.
We will definitely be back for a little break again!

On arrival, we called the phone number provided and was quickly directed to our pitch. On first glance. The grass had been freshly cut and the pitches were well spaced and their was plenty of space per pitch. Due to covid restrictions, the showers were closed, but this was not a problem for us as we were made aware of this prior to our visit. The facilities were kept exceptionally clean and tidy. With 5 pitches in total, the area was extremely peaceful. There was plenty of space in the centre for ball games with the kids, or even to fly a kite, taking into consideration the other campers. This was my first time camping so I have no comparison, but to me it was exactly what we were looking for and would definately book here again.

Local attractions

Folks with a penchant for fine buildings will no doubt want to nab a couple of trips to nearby National Trust properties: the gorgeous town house and walled gardens of Grantham House are five minutes’ drive away, and there are often family-friendly events at Belton House (10 minutes) as well as a splendid porcelain collection, fab formal gardens and a huge adventure playground.

Also worth a visit is Woolsthorpe Manor, 15 minutes away; at the former home of local clever clogs Isaac Newton you can even see the famed tree from which fell the apple that started giving him ideas. There are no world-changing trees at Easton Walled Gardens, 10 minutes away, but it’s a lovely visit to these restored 400-year-old gardens nonetheless (and there’s an excellent tearoom too).

Scoot over to Sleaford in 20 minutes or so to visit the National Centre for Craft & Design or get up close to the planes at the friendly (and free) Cranwell Aviation Heritage Museum. Big-city attractions are 45 minutes away in Nottingham.
