Plenty of space

  • Well-maintained Anglesey pitches on a family-run working farm
  • A 10-minute drive to Parys Mountain; 20 minutes to Benllech beach
  • Very short walk to local pub; five minutes' drive to Amlwch
Up at the top end of the Isle of Anglesey is generally a great place to take a peaceful holiday – but it gets even better when there’s a local pub a mere 50 yards away. And that’s the situation you’ll find yourself in when you stay at Cae Ffynnon, part of a working farm about five minutes’ drive inland from Amlwch. Pitches at this small family-run site are well maintained and well located, within easy reach of walking trails, bike paths, beaches, boat trips and the port at Holyhead (about half an hour’s drive away for those boarding a ferry to Ireland). And of course there’s that village pub a short walk away for a good feed and a welcome pint after your day out. You’ll have plenty of space to spread out on your pitch when you’re staying here, and you’ll be provided with some handy amenities including an electric hookup and picnic bench for each pitch. Shared facilities include toilets, showers and a washing-up area and you’re welcome to bring dogs and kids along for a stay here. Being so close to Amlwch means that you’ll have easy enough access to shops and places to eat (and the beach…) despite your peaceful immediate surroundings.

What customers say

This is a small, friendly, quiet campsite with spacious sites and lovely views. Guests praise the helpful owner, peaceful countryside location, and a good local pub nearby. Basic, clean washrooms are noted as dated and awaiting renovation. Good value for exploring Anglesey.

Liked Just me and the dog again and this site is all we ask for.
It’s clean, friendly and safe.
Happy Camper x
Not sure I'll return but nothing to do with the site.
Please see ‘Disliked' below

Disliked The roads around the campsite are narrow as are most roads on Anglesey. However, the speed of many drivers made me feel really unsafe when going out for the day.
I was nearly pushed off the road a number of times by drivers coming at me at 70mph, which the speed limit on these narrow ‘B’ roads allows.
It’s put me off ever going back.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Lovely welcoming host, the toilets were cleaned on a daily basis, there is great entertainment for the kids with the horses and goats in their pens and the free roaming chickens, the showers were just right and the pitches were all perfectly manicured, all at a great price and very easy to find.

Disliked The one big bin did start to reach overflow before we left but hopefully they were due emptying.

The signal for us on three mobile wasn't the best but that's not a big priority when camping!

Powered cement/asphalt campsite

Liked Scenery ✅
Tidy and flat pitch ✅
Showers toilets & clean, warm & accessible✅
Toilets clean and working both cleaned regular throughout the day✅
Accessibility to showers and toilets✅
Friendly management and on call when needed✅
Nature noise 24/7 and minimal traffic noise at night ✅
Wind coverage ✅ minus one direction coming off the field with 2 white horses in. Nextdoor to this field is a goat pen with 2 goats in there. My 4 year old would say morning to them and enjoyed just watching them.
Access is literally of the main road but in a 20mph zone. There is a pub right next door which if your fancying a meat out I would definitely recommend booking in advance.
Approx 20 to 30 minutes from beaches and 0 minutes away from beautiful scenery and country roads to drive around on.

Disliked Over flow of bins but what can you do when you the weather turns out amazing and there is soar in bookings that overrides the booked in bin emptying date by just a few days.

Liked Very nice and helpful owners.
Other campers were nice and friendly. Loved the location.

Disliked Poor food at the local pub. Tight entrance for a big caravan like ours.

Local attractions

A trip to Anglesey is usually all about the outdoor activities, and you’ll be well placed for those with a stay here. A drive of a little over five minutes will get you to a fishing spot at Llyn Alaw or a challenging but scenic round at Bull Bay Golf Club. Boats also head out from Amlwch harbour (five minutes’ drive) for sea fishing or just a bit of coastal sightseeing. There’s plenty of sightseeing to do on land too, whether you head out on the Anglesey Coast Path or aim for Parys Mountain (10 minutes’ drive) for a fabulous stroll through the colourful landscapes left behind by an ancient copper mine. The Copper Kingdom Centre (five minutes) will give you further insight into this aspect of the island’s past. And what about when you’d just like to sit on the beach, thanks very much? There’s a small stretch of sand at Amlwch, but you’d be better off heading to Lligwy (15 minutes), Church Bay (20 minutes) or Benllech (20 minutes) if you’re planning to spend a whole day swimming and sandcastle building.
