When a relaxed break on Anglesey is what the doctor ordered, Tyn Rhos Caravan Park should do rather nicely. This rural and dog-friendly park really is a quiet spot tucked into leafy countryside, with no clubhouse, shop, restaurant or play area on site. However, children are welcome to stay, and you should find all the pubs, cafés and shops you need a handy five minutes’ drive away in Moelfre. It’s also only 10 minutes’ stroll from the sweeping stretches of Lligwy beach – known for its golden sands, scenic views and beach café. Luckily the beach is also open for your furry friends, so they can join in with a splash about in the waves. This caravan park beckons hikers to follow sections of the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path, which passes close by. It’s also in pole position for jaunts to the island’s great heritage attractions like Beaumaris Castle (25 minutes’ drive), or indeed back across the Menai Straits for hiking, mountain biking and climbing in Eryri National Park (40 minutes). Practical facilities cover all the essentials: modern toilet and shower blocks (including one newly built for 2025; a small charge applies for hot showers), a washing-up room and laundry.

  • A charge of £1.00 ($1.86) applies for the use of the shower.
  • Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.
  • Reception is unmanned after 5 p.m.. Please inform the park while on your way there should you expect to arrive after this time, so that the team can provide information about your unit/pitch.
  • Guests must bring their own duvets, pillows, sheets and towels when staying in rental accommodation. You will not be allowed to stay if you do not bring these items.

This clean, quiet, well-kept site gets praise for friendly staff & good pitches. Has a dog walk & is a 10-min walk to Lligwy Beach (cafes, facilities). Showers/toilets are excellent. Mostly peaceful, though weekends can be noisier. Minor pitch/Wi-Fi issues resolved quickly. Great location & atmosphere.

Liked Very good camp site amenities was very good, toilets and showers Very clean thank for an excellent stay.

Disliked The road leading to the camp site is a nightmare to narrow if you have a trailer or caravan it's impossible for this reason we will not return

Liked Walking distance from the great beach meant we could pop back for lunch or a rest.
Staff very welcoming.

Disliked Site was too busy for my dog, constant football and dogs off leads chasing balls.
Shower tokens.
Nowhere to hose the dog.
No food waste bin in the washing up area.

Liked Clean, comfortable, and welcoming! Just a 10-minute walk to the beach and less than an hour to the waterfalls — perfect for both relaxation and adventure.

Disliked The 10 min away from beach was correct but didnt state had to walk on the road to get there, had toddlers with us so thia was not good, :(
Sadly no camp fires allowed first we have been to with it,

Liked Clean site and facilities, all staff really friendly and helpful, has easy access to nearby beaches/bays, and activities.

Disliked Paying for shower tokens and WiFi on top of fees. not having a shop/catering facility onsite.

Liked Unfortunately nothing.

Disliked Sorry but not what we expected at all.
Photos on the website do not give a true indication of the fact that the whole site is on a slope - making camping and parking difficult.
Very small site as well.
Beach access is along a main road with no footpath or pavement.
Expensive in comparison to another site we stayed at with much better view, quiet and peaceful, better facilities and no additional charges for shower. Was happy to do without the electric hook up on that bssis.

Liked Clean site. Showers and toilets clean and maintained regularly. Washing area spacious and also clean.

Disliked Large dogs running round site off lead. Absolutely happy with children playing but football kept hitting car and tent area.

Disliked The lights stayed on all night this wasn't a big issue for was irritating a small amount

Primitive grass campsite

Liked We stayed on a grass pitch with no electric in our camper . Everything was perfect. Easy access to the beach, lovely peaceful spot, showers and loos were clean. A great base. We’ll definitely be back!

Route directions

Cross the Britannia Bridge on the A55, and follow the A5025 for 10 miles to Benllech. Continue through Benllech village to the site office at Bodafon Caravan Park and check in. Then continue on this road for two miles and turn right at the roundabout towards Moelfre. Go down the hill and turn left after the fish-and-chip shop. Continue for two miles to the blue-and-white sign for Tyn Rhos Caravan Park on the right-hand side.
