General

  • Glamping site on a farm in the Brecon Beacons National Park
  • Just over a mile's walk to pubs in Talybont-on-Usk
  • Well-equipped chalets with wifi and bike hire on site

Coity Bach is a welcoming farm site with glamping accommodation, in the Brecon Beacons National Park just over a mile from the pretty little village of Talybont-on-Usk.

Get involved in farm life during your stay, helping out with the goats and horses, or just settle down in a serene setting for idle hours on site by day and stargazing – barbecues and campfires are both allowed here. Off site, this is a popular place for hill walking, and town sightseeing is easily accessible at nearby Abergavenny, Hay-on-Wye and Crickhowell. It's excellent terrain for cycling too: hire a bike on site or have your own spruced up at the cycle shop in the village.

All accommodation is made up for guests' arrival, with towels and bedding included. A Smart TV/DVD player is also available in the chalet unit and the site has free wifi in some areas. Communal amenities include showers, toilets, a laundry area and a drying room; there are also charging and recycling facilities, and local produce for sale.

The nearest big town for supplies is Brecon, 15 minutes’ drive away. To eat out, four pubs are within a mile and a half at Talybont-on-Usk.

Please note

No cars/motorcycles at the site. All cars must be parked in the designated area.

Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.

The farm owners were extremely accommodating and helpful. We turned up at the farm with a flat tyre, and Kyle took the time to change the tyre for us, we were offered a caravan for the night so that we wouldn’t have to pitch our tent in the dark. The farm owners also sent over some recommendations for activities after learning about our short stay. Toilet and shower facilities were easily accessible.

I thought this place was very lovely and I felt very welcome. It is in the middle of no where but that is exactly what I wanted so no one could disturb me.
The little cabin its self was adorable and one of very few that have electric. We had tea, cake and a great view. It is a working farm and everyone on there made us feel very at home and at ease, even the lovely doggies and kitten that came to welcome us. They helped us with where to go for our walk and it was incredible! We found this lovely waterfall place a short drive down the road.
I was very happy with my stay overall and I will be going back too either by myself or with my partner.

    Disliked:

Bathroom door in the cabin didn't shut and handle fell off. We laugh about it now and it didn't dampen our stay there.

    The view.

    Disliked:

Lack of information prior to arrival. Couldn't get the car in the field where we pitched - but wasn't told that before or on arrival. No proper car park and told off by the neighbours for parking near their house. Entry to field major slip hazard after heavy rain. The field is on a hill, nowhere to pitch on the flat. Animal pooh all over the field. Cold shower. Advertised bike storage, but it was an open shed. Charged for a fridge but it was broke and so had to share a fridge with others - no shelves in the fridge. Advertised WiFi - no WiFi where we pitched.

The views were amazing from the field the caravan was in that's all we have..

    Disliked:

When arriving we were concerned because the person seeing us in had cleaned the other caravan and thought we were in there so we were not confident the caravan was clean. We were to begin with okay about it but as time went on we were really disappointed with the caravan as a number of things happened and we are sorry to have to share but we would strongly recommend not staying in these caravans
The bedding had stains on it
The front of the top of the oven was missing
The cutlery, Crockery and cups were dirty, in fact the cutlery is kept on the floor we went and bought plastic for ourselves to eat and drink from
There are sooo many dead flies in the windows of the caravan which is hard to manage we now but put me off eating in there
We didn't observe there to be a carbon minoxide alarm
The gas ran out on the first day but was rectified
If you want the toilet you have to walk down a hill to the bathrooms and hold onto the door while youusw the toilet and hope no none else comes!
There was no electric hookup, it says there is electric on the booking
What was most annoying was there are four lovely and friendly dogs wondering the whole of the area all times of the day which meant we could not relax when outside because one of the dogs is anxious of other dogs we mentioned this a couple of times, we got back that the dogs are 'friendly' which is all well if your dogs are too but every time we saw one coming up we had to very quickly unhook our dog and run him in the caravan, they would not leave us alone and feel that this should be clear on the booking as if we had any idea of this we would not have booked to go here. One more thing, we are aware we booked on a working farm but normally that means you are not in the same field as the animals.. We woke up one morning the caravan surrounded by goats and sheep, some might like but not ideal with dogs!!... When talking to the owner she told us these caravans were where her workers stay but due to covid she didn't have them working there so rents them out which really did explain a lot.
