  • Peaceful, scenic countryside site near the Llandegley Rocks
  • A 10-minute drive to Llandrindod Wells; 25 minutes to Elan Valley
  • Pleasure fishing on site; pub serving food within walking distance
Anglers, hikers, pub goers and horse riders… settle serenely down at this site for all of what you seek, in a peaceful position in the Powys countryside. Spring Rock Holidays is set near the Llandegley Rocks, with several public rights of way starting right from it including a spectacular waterfall walk and forest hikes. It has its own pleasure fishery for anglers of all abilities, made up of a 15-foot lake with mirror, common, ghost and koi carp up to 25lbs; river fishing on the Ithon and fly fishing are both available nearby too. Several sports and leisure centres with swimming pools are in in the area too, along with a riding centre and pony trekking, 4x4 drives and kayaking along the Wye. And whatever flavour of break you go for, you'll likely like a stroll to the Severn Arms within walking distance of the site, which serves real ales, pub grub and takeaway (please note there's a short roadside section on the walk to the pub). Spring Rock has a toilet and shower block, a separate washing up area and a chemical disposal point.

What customers say

A quiet, adult-only spot, loved for its calm vibes, lovely lake views, and spotless amenities. Spacious pitches. Owners are super friendly and helpful. Downsides: shower changers might prefer more space, some daytime road noise, and the pub's a bit of a trek for some.

Liked Great site, spotless facilities and owner Andrew was super friendly and helpful. Site is lovely and quiet and well kept. Great walks around the site and also nearby. Easy access public footpaths from the site but also some great places short drives away. Couldn't fault our stay.

Liked Location is good, site has two fishing lakes and toilets clean

Disliked A lovely location but our stay let down by a neighbour having five dogs that were loose on exercise; we had to clear our pitch of dog poo on arrival. We left after first night, it’s a shame as it’s a pleasant setting and wardens seemed helpful, albeit relaxed about dogs on leads. The wardens also had two big dogs, one of which can jump their fence, so advised not to take our dogs past their van, we therefore couldn’t go outside of the camp unless we walked all round the lake to the entrance

Liked Absolutely loved this site, met on arrival and given the choice of pitch all of which faced out onto the lake and surrounding countryside.
Adult only site ensures you are in for a very peaceful stay even during half term.
Facilites were amazingly clean (spotless) and kept so throughout.modern rain showers added a nice touch.word of note the showers run off a pay meter and it's 20 pence a minute or £1 for five minutes. It starts to count down the second you put your money in so its best to get undressed first.
Overall loved everything about this site and would definitely stay there again.

Disliked No stool in shower cubicles to aid getting undressed / dressed and no seperate screen between shower and changing area to ensure your clothes don't get wet.could aid this by having more clothes hooks on the back of the door but these are minor details and the shower was both spotless and amazing.

Local attractions

After a leisurely time fishing on site, more of the same can be landed at the local pub's section of the Ithon river, via fly fishing at Rhayader or Llyngwyn, or in the Wye from the nearby town of Builth Wells. Other active options easily accessed from here are pony trekking and horse riding, 4x4 experiences, Wye Valley kayaking and hikes around the Elan Valley. Cyclists should also like the hundreds of bikes and loads of cycling bits at the National Cycle Museum in local town Llandrindod Wells. If you're up for events, the Royal Welsh Showground at Llanelwedd near Builth Wells hosts events throughout the year including the Royal Welsh Show in July, the Smallholders' Show in May, the Winter Fayre in December, dog and horse shows, and two antique fairs. You could also have a look at the red kite feeding station at Gigrin Farm, or take to the car for day trips: the Brecon Beacons, Aberystwyth and Hay-on-Wye are all within an hour.
