Sitting between the seaside towns of Aberaeron and New Quay, Moody Meadows is a family-run site 10 minutes’ drive from spectacular Cardigan Bay in Ceredigion. And not only is it family-run, it’s also very family-friendly, with a whole host of facilities to make life easy on site. These include a farm shop for topping up on supplies, a licensed bistro for those days when you can’t be bothered to spark up the barbecue and a play barn to keep kids safely occupied. The level, tree-lined pitches are all fully serviced with a lawned area for sitting out. Thoughtful additions in the shower block (it has disabled facilities) include hair dryers and a laundrette, and should you be bringing dogs with you, there’s also a dedicated dog wash area for cleaning muddy paws. With easy access off the A487, this quiet site is a convenient base for exploring Ceredigion, its beaches, historic sites and wildlife – watch out for red kites inland and dolphins in Cardigan Bay. A footpath leads from the site to the village of Llwyncelyn (10 minutes’ stroll), and a short walk from there takes you onto the scenic Wales Coast Path… You won’t need a car to explore the area, but a good pair of walking boots is essential.

Liked lovely site we stay in adults only part , bar and restaurant lovely , food nice , bus route outside, coastal walk is a long walk , would definitely stay again

Disliked showers the floor got soaked , push button only last a couple of seconds

Disliked Not really a family budget friendly site, travelled 250 miles to stay a week and my children were bored some days, as couldn't afford to pay for the same park for them everyday.

Liked We booked an adults only hot tub pitch. Would definitely recommend. The staff were all great, the pub was particularly busy and they were apologetic about having to wait for food. It really wasn’t a problem, we were happy to enjoy the good weather.

Disliked My only comment would be that the ladies toilet/shower block needed checking more often. In the evening it looked like someone had tried to have a water fight in it, shame on them for messing it up.

Liked Nice clean quiet site with excellent facilities- showers, toilets etc and nice restaurant

Disliked Booked with you but unfortunately pitch was double booked for first night but grateful to Will and staff who were able to offer alternative pitch for one night. Inconvenience of having to move on the following morning, disrupting our plans. However, Will and staff were great

Liked Great location. Clean, and well maintained. Friendly staff, good food- huge portions! Good value for money.

Disliked Took 45 mins to get a cup of tea the following morning with breakfast. Understand that it was busy, but our breakfast was delivered an eaten and was still waiting.
WiFi wasn’t available in adults only section

Liked Excellent site with everything clean and tidy. Lovely friendly welcome. Slightly surprised someone on a pitch opposite us was allowed a fit pit in these present fire risk conditions.

Take forays along the Wales Coast Path (direct access from the site), or pack a picnic and march the family down to sand-and-shingle Cei Bach Beach (50 minutes’ stroll/10 minutes’ drive) to see if you can spot dolphins playing in the waves. If the kids catch the wildlife bug, take them to see the birds of prey and butterfly house at the National Botanic Garden of Wales (55 minutes’ drive), where they can also encounter giant animal sculptures on lakeside walks. Learn more about the history of this corner of Ceredigion with a visit to the National Wool Museum (25 minutes), housed in a historic mill packed with original spinning looms; there are entertaining craft workshops for families. Fans of the combustion engine can see 19th-century machines in motion at The Internal Fire Museum of Power (20 minutes), giving an insight into the development of steam power. Staying with the heritage theme, tour the handsome John Nash-designed villa and lakeside gardens at National Trust - Llanerchaeron (10 minutes). If your offspring need an antidote to all that history, the crescent-shaped sandy beach at New Quay (10 minutes’ drive) has rock pools for crabbing and is backed by ice cream stalls and cafés.
