  • Quiet family-friendly campsite 10 minutes’ drive from Cardigan Bay
  • Direct access to Wales Coast Path; Cei Bach Beach 10 minutes’ drive
  • Dogs welcome; licensed bistro, farm shop and a play barn on site
Sitting between the seaside towns of Aberaeron and New Quay, Moody Meadows is a family-run site 10 minutes’ drive from spectacular Cardigan Bay in Ceredigion. And not only is it family-run, it’s also very family-friendly, with a whole host of facilities to make life easy on site. These include a farm shop for topping up on supplies, a licensed bistro for those days when you can’t be bothered to spark up the barbecue and a play barn to keep kids safely occupied. The level, tree-lined pitches are all fully serviced with a lawned area for sitting out. Thoughtful additions in the shower block (it has disabled facilities) include hair dryers and a laundrette, and should you be bringing dogs with you, there’s also a dedicated dog wash area for cleaning muddy paws. With easy access off the A487, this quiet site is a convenient base for exploring Ceredigion, its beaches, historic sites and wildlife – watch out for red kites inland and dolphins in Cardigan Bay. A footpath leads from the site to the village of Llwyncelyn (10 minutes’ stroll), and a short walk from there takes you onto the scenic Wales Coast Path… You won’t need a car to explore the area, but a good pair of walking boots is essential.

What customers say

Great, well-kept park with super clean ablutions, ample stands & decent grub. Friendly staff & peaceful vibe, plus hot tub pitches are a treat. Occasional Wi-Fi glitch & confusing signs reported. Some pitches need extra pegs for hard ground.

Fully-serviced hardstanding pitch (adults only)

Liked Large pitch , well maintained , useful having shop & bistro , on the bus route

Disliked Stayed in adults only pitch which we were pleased about however a camper across from us played loud music from a big boom box speaker all day until around 8pm , couldn’t relax at all - toilets/showers were untidy and very hot

Fully-serviced hardstanding pitch (hot tub)

Liked The campsite is lovely, its got everything you need especially if you have kids from soft play, park trampoline places. The restaurant was amazing and the serves was really good! The bathroom even had a little step for children. Hot tub is ace! Just get in and enjoy in a private hut. Each pitch has its own drinking water tap

Disliked Showers & pitching a tent on hard standing even though each pitch has grass!
Showers are one temperature which is way too hot! , you can't adjust the height so unless your 7ft wouldnt bother. They are not suitable to shower a child in way too hot and can't move the shower to wash a tiny person. So trying to hold a child in the shower to wash their hair OH AND to hold the button in for the water isn't possible!! This is the only fault I had, having a hot tub yoy want to be able to wash after and that just wasnt relaxing to do.

Fully-serviced hardstanding pitch (large)

Liked Great site well laid out and very tidy. Pitch prices very good for the time of year. Level pitch with all services close at hand. Clean and well maintained toilets and shower block. Nice farm shop, if a bit basic, needs more essentials. Good bar and bistro that was competitively priced. Good selection of low alcohol drinks. Didn't purchase food but from what we observed it looked very nice and well presented.

Fully-serviced hardstanding pitch (large)

Liked One of the best campsites we've stayed at.

We stayed on a large pitch with a clean water tap and EHU and there was plenty of room for our 8 man tent, pantry tent and 3x3 gazebo, plus the car.

It is the first time we have stayed on hard standing. I would definitely use hard standing again but would take slippers for inside the tent.

The facilities were great. The toilets and showers were always clean and well stocked.
We used the washing machine and dryer and both were a reasonable price.

The trampoline park, restaurant and shop were within easy walking distance and good value. We had breakfast and evening meal at the restaurant and the food was lovely. We took advantage of the beer garden for an evening drink.

All the staff we encountered were helpful and friendly and they are around till late at night to ensure everyone was following the rules, without putting a downer on peoples evenings.

We watched them clean the hot tubs as soon as the pitches were vacated so knew they were clean and fresh for the next people.

The site was well maintained and the staff were always visible and doing things to keep the site to a high standard.

Disliked On pitch up it does say there is a childrens play area. While technically this is correct, it is part of the play barn so there is an additional charge. We didn't find this an issue as there was plenty of other ways to entertain our children.

It could be handy to have somewhere to refreeze freezer blocks.

Liked Well laid out and well equipped. Site has excellent facilities and services. Very clean and tidy. Staff friendly and helpful

Disliked Should probably have gone for the adult only end for a bit more peace. No problem with kids playing but one kid had rigged his back wheel with a plastic bottle jammed in it and it sounded like a motor bike (all day). A minor and probably rare occurrence

Fully-serviced hardstanding pitch

Liked Visited this lovely site in our Motorhome last weekend and we were really pleased we did. The park was well laid out and the pitches were a good size. The reception were very welcoming and told us all we needed to know for our short stay. The facilities were clean and within easy reach of our pitch which was great. We had an evening meal and breakfast at the Moody Cow which were both lovely and there’s plenty to choose from. The shop was well stocked with everything you’d need for your stay. Perfect for a stop over if you’re travelling further down the wales coastline which is what we did. Would recommend and will definitely visit again when we visit Wales. Thanks guys.

Local attractions

Take forays along the Wales Coast Path (direct access from the site), or pack a picnic and march the family down to sand-and-shingle Cei Bach Beach (50 minutes’ stroll/10 minutes’ drive) to see if you can spot dolphins playing in the waves. If the kids catch the wildlife bug, take them to see the birds of prey and butterfly house at the National Botanic Garden of Wales (55 minutes’ drive), where they can also encounter giant animal sculptures on lakeside walks. Learn more about the history of this corner of Ceredigion with a visit to the National Wool Museum (25 minutes), housed in an historic mill packed with original spinning looms; there are entertaining craft workshops for families. Fans of the combustion engine can see 19th-century machines in motion at The Internal Fire Museum of Power (20 minutes), giving an insight into the development of steam power. Staying with the heritage theme, tour the handsome John Nash-designed villa and lakeside gardens at National Trust - Llanerchaeron (10 minutes). If your offspring need an antidote to all that history, the crescent-shaped sandy beach at New Quay (10 minutes’ drive) has rock pools for crabbing and is backed by ice cream stalls and cafés.
