What customers say
Stunning loch views and modern amenities like a praised spa/infinity pool. Friendly, helpful staff. Showers/toilets clean but pitches a walk away. Restaurant food good, though pricey. Remote, with single-track roads, and occasional midges.

Good value, friendly staff, exceeded my expectations

Liked Really good location for the ferry to Tarbert. Facilities at the Marina were excellent. Pitches well spaced, great views.

Excellent place to stop
Powered cement/asphalt and grass RV campsite
Liked The location was breathtaking and the facilities just lovely. A touch of luxury on our road trip.
Disliked It feels wrong to grumble when you're in such an amazing location but the pitch itself was a little soulless and felt simply like a car park. But that's a very minor dislike.

I always love to return to Portavadie.
Powered cement/asphalt and grass RV campsite
Liked Great facilities, incredible views, peaceful. A hidden little gem of a place. I visited the Tighnabruaich Gallery which is mentoring some of Scotland’s amazing emerging artists and showing their work. It is a must to visit if you are in the area. It was the highlight of my visit alongside my usual walking and swimming. ☀️☀️

Overnight is fine but move on to sites more designed for campervans.
Powered cement/asphalt and grass RV campsite
Liked Beautiful location with lovely views over Loch Fyne. The showers and facilities are very clean and well maintained.
Disliked The motor home park is basically a car park. The electric supply was great but the water kept running out ( low pressure issue) and no washing up facilities ( we used the sink in the laundry). The intended market at Portavadie is the marina and luxury lodges. The site ( pricey shop and restaurant/bar) is aimed at luxury lifestylers rather than campervanners. So as an overnight stop it works but don’t plan a longer stay.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass RV campsite
Liked This site has wonderful views and generous spacing between sites. The ground is level and hard standing but you get a patch of grass. The facilities are hotel quality and the staff were lovely.
Disliked It’s quite a walk to the toilets and showers, up and down hill to so you need to plan your toilet visits. Facilities are shared with the restaurant so I did feel like a bit of a tramp going to them blurry eyed in my PJs as visitors were arriving dressed to for breakfast (it was 8.30am so I didn’t think I was too late). When we were there the water wasn’t working. We weren’t offered compensation but told to take our camper to the restaurant to fill the tank. I’m still wondering how this would work, we took containers instead but still did make us feel a little like second class citizens. This could all be solved by getting a decent water flow to the campsite and building a small washroom up there.

A glood location for a couple of days stopover if travelling this area
Powered cement/asphalt and grass RV campsite
Liked The campervan site is within the Portavadie Sailing complex and has access to excellent showers and laundry facilities. Power and water both on the same stantion so really handy for filling kettles. Waste water disposal close by. Great views across to the Mull of Kintyre. Booking for the pool and other activities on site such as bike hire is advisable.
Disliked Expensive restaurant but take away pizza and other items can be orders.
