What customers say

Spacious, level pitches with friendly staff. Great for Jurassic Coast. Generally clean, modern facilities, though some shower temp/privacy concerns. Pizza van a hit! Peaceful, good for families and couples.

Powered grass campsite

Liked Great location, check in was quick and easy and staff were friendly. Our pitch was level and quiet. Within short drive of beaches and towns. Nice for a short stay and good price. They have a fresh pizza van on certain nights which was a great option for dinner.

Disliked The shower block was dirty and not suitable for the size of the campsite. There is a shower room with 3 shower cubicles inside but the room had a lock and because the cubicles were just a shower and curtain with no room to change people would go in the room by themselves and lock the door. Every time I would go to see if I could shower there would be one person blocking off all 3 showers with people queuing outside. Had to wait about an hour until I could shower.

The elsan point was just a regular toilet outside, we saw a few people emptying their chemical waste and it kept blocking the toilet which inevitably happened when we tried too.

Liked Beautiful surroundings, very easygoing atmosphere, all the amenities were there and working, and the pizza van was stellar.

Disliked Disliked reading all the negative comments about the showers. They were actually fine. It's not a spa for sure but it's as good as a public swimming pool shower block and this is camping so yeah...all good things.

Liked Peaceful, choice of pitch, not crowded

Disliked Poorly signposted. Sparse with limited facilities. 3 showers with communal changing does not work when first person using shower, locks communal door, preventing any further access. Hot water is intermittent.

Powered grass campsite

Liked Large pitches, peaceful and great staff.

Disliked My only negative would be the showers. It seems odd to have a row of 3 showers (with curtains) and a communal changing area. I always shower really early in the morning so it wasn’t an issue for me to lock the door to the whole shower area, at peak times this would feel a bit selfish.

Local attractions

If you’re into all things vehicular, start your local exploration at The Tank Museum, 10 minutes’ drive away – the collection of more than 300 tanks (including Little Willie, the world’s first) is renowned as the world’s finest. Follow up with a steam-powered ride on the Swanage Railway (25 minutes away). As you ride the rails, you’ll pass the ruins of Corfe Castle, built in the 11th century by William the Conqueror – it’s about 15 minutes from the site if you’d like to take a closer look. A mile or so up the road from the castle is the cute Wareham Bears, where more than 200 teddies live in a model village. For real-life animal antics, take the 10-minute drive to Monkey World to see the apes that found TV fame in the UK as stars of the Monkey Life. And one can't ignore the Jurassic Coast – it’ll take you 20 minutes or so to drive to some of its most stunning sights, including Lulworth Cove, Man O’War beach and the giant stone arch Durdle Door. A walk on the South West Coast Path is an excellent way to take it all in, or you could try paddleboarding, sea kayaking or coasteering to get a different view.
