What customers say
A welcoming, quiet, and budget-friendly campsite, a hit with anglers thanks to its many fishing lakes and well-stocked shop. Hosts are consistently praised for being helpful and welcoming, along with the peaceful vibe and great value. Facilities are basic but clean. While some mention a need for washroom upgrades, the low cost and positive experience often outweigh this. Good spot for exploring the countryside.

Power optional grass and earth campsite
Liked Great campsite for the price we paid! Everyone there was friendly and there's lots of room. The shop was well stocked and if you like fishing then this is the perfect site. Hosts are friendly and rules are clear in arrival but not strict. Washing up and toilet/shower facilities were adequate (slightly rustic but functional - can even adjust the temp of the shower!).

Fine for over night stay - if using own facilities. Great for anglers
Power optional grass and earth campsite
Liked Very relaxed setting , lakes and trees with large grass camping field.
Disliked Very basic facilities not really fit for 2026!
Shower needs updating - I would not use.

From the manager: Please read review just 2 below this one that praises the mains water powered showers and hot water and facilities. We are not a modern 2026 commercial site charging more then double what we do and charging extra's for basics like showers and water. We are an ex-farm now fishery site with basic functioning clean facilities all included in one low price with no extra costs (except fishing) We regularly get people stay for a week or more not just the one night you stayed for. You can pay a lot more locally for sites with just compost toilets and hit and miss solar showers. Not sure what you were expecting for just £7 a person all inclusive!!!.

Disliked I wish the fishing swims were all level and the steps as well as the steps you can’t see them for people to see apart from that good shame the WiFi doesn’t work

From the manager: As you stated we have had the best fishing sport here the last 2 months we have had in years. The various ponds are built into the natural valley and so there are many different types of swims and majority (Middle, Dead Tree, Trendels and Canal are all level but a few other waters do have steps to access but that is the geography of how the warers have been built and unavoidable. As for the the WiFi which is the only point that is really directly linked to the booking itself as fishing is a separate entity anyway our card machine in the shop works from the same Wifi and it was working fine during your stay but you do need a password to access the wifi that is readily available from the shop and if asked we would have offered help with this. Otherwise i would say a low rating not based on anything to do with the booking itself.
