An unsafe, filthy dirty, horror of a campsite.

Liked Absolutely NOTHING!!!
Disliked Absolutely EVERYTHING!! This place is nothing like it's advertised to be. Forget those idyllic pictures on Pitch Up's pages - this place is a filthy, unsafe, health hazard - populated with traveller types, who appear to be there permanently.
The showers and toilets were absolutely filthy, with faeces all over the toilets and no locks on ANY of the doors - as a woman, I was not safe, with drunk men wandering around, two of who accosted me outside the toilet.
There was rubbish everywhere - piles of it and the whole place stank of it, not to mention the smell of drugs. There was also definite evidence of a rodents infestation.
The noise throughout the night from barking dogs, drunk people and unruly children made sleep impossible.
We'd paid £168 to stay 4 nights - we stayed for 1, and got out of there as soon as we could.
Please do yourselves a favour and STAY AWAY from this disgusting, unsafe, filthy dirty, horror of a campsite.

Not a good experience by any stretch of the imagination
Powered grass tent campsite
Liked This time, very little. There is what appears to be a traveller community who are permanent residents of the site. I hate to sound racist but while the adults seemed quite friendly their children most certainly were not. My daughters were bullied assaulted the first night there, simply because they had red hair. Thy were physically pulled to the ground by their hair and had their heads banged into the floor. There's no one on site ever to complain to and with the utmost respect you're hardly likely to complain to a community who are stack against you.
Disliked Lack of control of resident clientele. males youths being in the female toilet block. no one on site to address problems. We were booked in for later this month for a return visit. so bad was our experience this time we've regrettably cancelled the second week due to safety concerns for our children.

Not the most welcoming site as a solo camper but no major complaints
Powered grass tent campsite
Liked Reasonably priced. Flat pitch with hard pitch for your vehicle beside.
Disliked Could hear the A38 from the camping fields so would recommend ear plugs.
Toilet block wasn’t fully stocked, there was no soap and limited toilet roll. There was a bonfire one night which was smoky which stunk out the field and therefore my tent.

A sad sight, at a sad site!
Powered cement/asphalt campsite
Liked It was close to where we needed to go.
Disliked We were disappointed, although the site had all the facilities that someone touring would need, it had the feel of being unloved.
Toilets, cold, but reasonable clean.
Some doors hanging off in the loos, welcome was adequate, but didn't feel welcome.
It seems that the site was being used by workers from out of the area. Road noise was very noticeable. We could list more.
My disappointment is caused by the comparison visits to other campsites, the previous two were better cared for and cheaper! We paid £36 and being that is out of season!
We very sad to have to post this as we like to be positive.
