Barley Meadow, a spotless adult-only site, earns praise for its roomy spots, friendly owners, and quiet atmosphere perfect for exploring Devon. Enjoy the on-site shop and dog-friendly zones. Minor road noise noted but generally not an issue. Highly recommended for a chill getaway.

Liked Nice and clean pitch. Very clean facilities. The greatest dog area ever.
Disliked One could smell the septic area at the pitch.

From the manager: Many thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. So on arrival you were told to reverse into the pitch so that your habitation door would be facing the other direction. You choose to ignore this information and drove into the pitch which meant your door was facing the tank. We have had the hottest year in a very long time, adding in the volume of people we have had on site especially during July and August, this means that sadly the tank does have a smell. However we are pleased to see that you enjoyed our dog area. Best wishes from Leigh and David.
A lovely adults only site in the countryside near a farm.
Power optional grass campsite
Liked Quiet location, lovely sized grass pitch. Nearby farm shop selling tasty freshly made sausages and bacon. Good size shower cubicle and nice toilet block. Adults only. Wi-Fi very good and free
Disliked The shower head is fixed and water sprays everywhere. Push button shower. The floor squeegee doesn't really work very well so cubicle floor stays wet with debris still on it.

From the manager: Many thanks John for your review. With regards to the shower head you can move the nozzle. We provide a mat outside for people to wipe their feet to minimise any mess. The squeegee is more to help push the water and soap towards the drains. However we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. Best wishes from Leigh and David.

Power optional grass campsite
Liked Went for a weekend of solo camping. Absolutely wonderful site. Facilities are first class, some of the nicest showers I've ever used at a camp site, and toilets were spotless every time I used them.
The site is well situated for walking - I didn't need to use my car all weekend. The local village is around a half an hour walk and has a great pub. Castle Drogo was just over an hour which was a nice afternoon out.
The site itself was very conveniently located 5 minutes off the A30, so despite being in a very rural area, you don't have to drive down any tight roads to get to it. But the noise levels were mostly fine - just the odd boy racer.
Lots of animals and wildlife - sheep, donkeys, birds! And very dark skies at night, great for stargazing.
I'd definitely go back!
