Harleys Field FHU grass campsite

Liked Quiet location with great views towards St Agnes and amazing cliff top path walks accessed from site.
Huge pitches
Lots of different fields each with its own vibe.
Friendly helpful wardens
Pizza van one night a week.
Good location to visit other areas of Cornwall.

Disliked Wasn’t really too much of a problem but the drain on our fully serviced pitch was uphill so needed to use our grey waste container, but at least it was only a few yards to take it to empty.

Avenger powered grass tent campsite

Liked What a fantastic place! Warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble for the on site wardens. Amazing facilities! We went non electric and there is a utilities room to charge mobiles and other devices in a lockable box. Fridge for food storage and the information available is extremely handy! Boards with local amenities, takeaways, places to visit, emergency doctor and dentist etc. Easy access to the coast path

Disliked The only thing to let this place down was the WiFi. I was unable to join the network and contacted customer services and they never got back to me during my 5 night stay. Apparently there is an issue with Apple devices connecting to it. There should be a generic password to enable access to those with issues, especially as it is so generic.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi Lucy.
We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. Sorry that the WIFI wasn't working. We will try and look in to it.
We hope you will visit again.

Sally P.

Harleys Field FHU grass campsite

Liked Loved location, great for getting to St Agnes Cove and beach.
Lovely staff and good extra facilities- phone charger and lock, microwave and fridge.

Disliked Need more shower/toilet facilities or existing ones cleaned more often. Small block- needs revamp and maybe something more permanent built.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thanks for the review Sally. We are looking at ways to revamp our facilities and might be trying to do something over the coming winter...weather and budget permitting. Watch this space.

Local attractions

If you’ve come to Cornwall for the beaches, you’ve got two good ones within a 15-minute drive. A vast expanse of sand backed by rocky cliffs, Perranporth Beach (five minutes) is home to the Tunes in the Dunes summer music festival. Porthtowan Beach (15 minutes), on the St Agnes Heritage Coast, is also sandy, with a number of rockpools to explore. Both are popular with surfers. For an insight into the history of the region, you can head to the cathedral city of Truro (20 minutes), where the Royal Cornwall Museum displays local artefacts, plus an eclectic collection ranging from minerals to Egyptian sarcophagi. A twice-weekly farmers’ market is the place to stock up on locally grown produce for the barbie back at the site. At the Eden Project (45 minutes), huge biome domes replicate different landscapes, from a Mediterranean garden to a rainforest. And there’s much more here than just recreated natural habitats, with a lively programme of cultural events, including the Eden Sessions music concerts.
