For somewhere to stop while wending your way westwards to the end of Cornwall, try Fox Farm Motorhome Park, a well-maintained, intimate site set in the grounds of a small farm a mile and a half from Penzance town centre. It won't take you long to get out and see the local wildlife here – this site is located on the edge of an area of outstanding natural beauty on the sparsely populated Penwith Peninsula. This Cornish spot has a very small number of secluded pitches, all of which are spacious and level. Amenities at this low-key spot include practical features like a water supply via a spring borehole, recycling points and chemical disposal facilities. There's also a small on-site farm shop where you can pick up fresh local fruit and vegetables. Well-behaved dogs are welcome but please keep them on leads, as this is a working farm. Open barbecues are allowed too, but the owners would appreciate it if quiet hours could be respected after 10pm. This site feels peaceful and out of the way but is easily accessible from the main road, which can get you down into Penzance with roughly a five-minute drive. There are several beaches here (including a fair number of dog-friendly options), as well as a railway station, bars, restaurants and supermarkets.

Liked Nice level gravel pitches, adequate space and secluded. Access in 6m campervan was fine. Friendly and welcoming owners. Good value for money. Peaceful stay. Only 5 minutes from Penzance.

Liked Calm, peaceful. Felt really welcomed by the owner. Large and flat graveled pitch.
Very clean.

Disliked Just a suggestion : put a rock or tile on the floor near the tap of the water (a bit muddy)

Liked Lovely little site for campervans or motorhomes. Wonderfully situated just outside of Penzance, perfect for a short trip across the moors into St Ives, a 10 minute drive to St Michael's Mount and everywhere else you fancy going is super easy. Loads of nearby supermarkets for filling up your cupboards and very reasonable priced fuel. Your host is lovely, super helpful and friendly. Nothings too much trouble. Showers and toilets were clean and water hot. I'll definitely be going back.

Liked Secluded pitches, in a quiet location. There is a walk that starts virtually from the site down to St Michael's Mount. The showers and toilets are clean, spacious and have hot water.

Disliked No photo signal (EE, 02 and Smarty), but thats not the campsites fault.

Disliked Site looked very different to photos in pitch up. Pitch up needs to update.
Wasn’t sure what to do on arrival - clear signage would help. However response on phone.

Liked Very basic but nice shower block

Disliked Approaching on very narrow lanes and bus route. No we're to walk pup, overgrown vegetation. Pitches need attention also .

Liked Helpful staff and clean toilets etc. Short walk to town centre. All in all it did the job for the night.

Disliked The road leading to this "Motorhome Park" is NOT motorhome friendly as two larger vehicles could not pass each other and bends would be an issue should a car be coming the other way at the same time as well - needs passing places as a minimum and this pitch up was chosen due to it intimating "Motorhome accessible" in the name.

Photos on Pitchup do not reflect the actual spaces as they are VERY overgrown and not tended to as would appear in the photos. Access to the "level pitches" - which granted they were - would be dicey with an over 7m motorhome.

Beach-side full holiday park found within 10 miles with swimming pool for the next night at £7 more so wasn't worth the charge to stay here.

From the manager: We are on the main bus and route to st Ives from Penzance there are ample passing places from Penzance to our small farm. There is room for the largest American RV on our site, we have allowed plants to grow enough to provide privacy between each pitch. If you like peace and quiet with lovely walks come! If you would like a swimming pool best try somewhere else.

Local attractions

Drive 10 minutes down the road to Marazion to see the iconic St Michael's Mount and to explore two sandy beaches, or walk there from Penzance (two miles) along an almost entirely level traffic-free path. Other local outdoor attractions you won't want to miss include the Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens (10 minutes' drive), where modern art meets panoramas over the sea, and The Minack Theatre (25 minutes), an open-air events space with regular shows in a spectacular clifftop setting. Finding yourself in St Ives (20 minutes) is another popular option, as this artsy north coast town is home to a Tate art gallery, a pottery centre and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden. For something a bit grittier (although without leaving behind the fantastic scenery), there's also the Geevor Tin Mine (20 minutes), where you can discover three centuries of Cornish industrial heritage. Hopping back over to the south coast, you're also within day-tripping distance of Falmouth and King Henry VIII's Pendennis Castle (50 minutes), while just driving west will take you straight to the Land's End Landmark Attraction (25 minutes) where you can look out over the Atlantic.
