Trevethan Farm

  • Quiet, spacious site just over 10 minutes’ walk from Padstow harbour
  • Walk to the South West Coast Path, the Camel Trail and the Saints’ Way
  • Dog-friendly and family-friendly; supermarket two minutes’ walk away
Heading to Padstow and keen to find a peaceful place to stay? Take a look at Padstow Campsite, in a fantastic spot just over 10 minutes’ walk from Padstow harbour and the ferry to Rock. This location is an excellent one for giving you a bit of quiet rural space while still putting you within easy reach of the buzz of Padstow town centre, with its pubs, restaurants and activities including sailing, watersports, sea safaris and fishing. Even more handy is the fact that a large supermarket is a couple of minutes’ walk away, making it easy to stock up on snacks, drinks and barbecue supplies. The spacious grass pitches at this family-run pop-up site are based on Trevethan Farm, and they’ve got lovely views across the estuary and the surrounding countryside. Facilities include showers and toilets, and the site is both family friendly and dog friendly. Good news for the keen walkers among you – there are plenty of trails within walking distance, including the South West Coast Path, the Camel Trail and the Saints’ Way. Handily for those hoping to leave their car in one spot, the farm is also within walking distance of local bus routes to destinations like Wadebridge, Newquay and Bodmin. Craving a beach day? The site is a short drive from several popular local beaches, including Trevone Bay (five minutes’ drive away) and Harlyn Bay beach (10 minutes).

Local attractions

Padstow itself is quite the attraction, of course, with visitors flocking here to try out the seafood restaurants, visit the National Lobster Hatchery and book mackerel fishing trips, speedboat adventures or dolphin-spotting boat trips. You can also board the ferry to Rock from here, or bring bikes to cycle along the Camel Trail to Wadebridge. This place is also a handy base for all sorts of other attractions around the area, including Cornish Birds Of Prey (10 minutes’ drive), the Eden Project (half an hour), the cute fishing village of Port Isaac (half an hour), Bodmin Jail Attraction (half an hour) and Tintagel Castle (45 minutes). There are beaches galore, too – take your pick from the surf hotspots of Polzeath and Newquay (both half an hour), dramatic and rocky Bedruthan Steps (15 minutes) or more tucked-away spots like Hawker's Cove (10 minutes), Constantine Bay (10 minutes) and Treyarnon Bay (15 minutes). And if you can’t get enough seaside scenery, there’s always the option of a walk on the South West Coast Path too…
