If you're tasked with finding a fine location for a family-friendly Cornish getaway, this could be the one. Trelay Holiday Park is 10 minutes’ walk from historic Pelynt (so old it’s mentioned in the Domesday Book, don’t you know), and 10 minutes’ drive from the popular and pretty fishing villages of Looe and Polperro. As well as having a wonderful location surrounded by green fields, everything’s equally enticing on the site as well. The dog-friendly park has neatly manicured grassy areas planted with lots of trees, and level spacious pitches for touring caravans and motorhomes. Convenience comes in spades too, with a large and pristine shower block, an on-site launderette and a communal food-prep room to make life easy for guests. Reception is manned by welcoming and expert staff between the hours of 10am and 4pm, so go straight there if you have any queries or issues. There’s an out-of-hours number if you have any problems outside those times. Should you run out of supplies while you’re there, simply stroll into Pelynt to the convenience stores or the butchers. Or perhaps you'd like to dodge the cooking completely and simply head to the village pub for wholesome food and a pint of Cornish ale? You are on holiday, after all…

  • Single-sex bookings of 4 or more people (couples and immediate family members excepted) are not permitted via Pitchup.com.
  • Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.
  • At least one of the party members must be aged 30 or over.
  • No bachelor/bachelorette parties permitted via Pitchup.com.
  • The park does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Breed-specific legislation (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

This tidy site has lovely gardens & spotless facilities. Staff are friendly & helpful. Great for walks to Looe/Polperro, with a village/pub nearby. Peaceful atmosphere, good pitches. Many guests would return.

Liked Clean, well maintained site. Staff were very informative, polite and friendly. This is a quite site, with some lovely walks to Looe and Polperro (around 3 miles to either of these).

Liked The site was immaculately clean! Very good showers/bathroom facilities and clean! Very friendly staff, welcoming arrival and greeting pack which included walking routes into Looe (we took the woodland path which was lovely!) very good base for looe (which is beautiful, good beach, plenty of places to eat and drink - we went to the smugglers inn for seafood and choklet for chocolate tasting and chocolate cocktails!) we also went to Fowey on the car ferry, which was stunning and Bodmin jail. The site was a short drive to these places!

We had a bit of a disaster involving our bike lock - we had secured one of our bikes to our campervan wheel and the bike lock failed and we couldn’t get it off…. Ian (one of the maintenance team!) thankfully came to the rescue! He went out of his way and had to use an angle grinder to remove it! We would have been pretty stuffed without his help and time - though we would still be there now (not a bad thing!)

Liked What an amazing well maintained campsite!very friendly staff and a peaceful site well unless our 4 year old became loud at times !haha 😂 showers were amazing even with the rain showers! Lovely and hot, Even the poo bins were spotless clean which haven't seen before.

Bus stop is right outside but bear in mind the times coming back as cornish travel,haha. Pre book a taxi is definitely recommended also they took our 2 small dogs which was great.

Our daughter loved the park too!

We will definitely come back here.

Liked Absolutely beautiful site.. Landscaped areas and water features are lovely.
Spotless facilities. Nice warm showers.
Staff are very welcoming and informative about local amenities.
Perfectly located within walking distance to local village with shop and Pub.Also, lovely walk to Polperro and Looe Harbour. Bus stop just down the road from the site..
You will not be disappointed..
We will definitely return..

Liked location was lovely as so close to Looe and polperro, excellent free showers and clean toilets and internal washing up area.

Could not fault it and even through it was more expensive it was worth it for location

Disliked a little trek to the toilet block but not too bad

If the kids are demanding days on the beach, there’s certainly plenty of choice along the southern Cornish coastline. East Looe beach is a favourite for families, with its gently sloping sandy beach – good for youngsters to have a splash around in the water – and the cafés and kiosks selling snacks and ice creams. The twin coves at Talland Bay (both 10 minutes’ drive) are also backed by cafés. If you’re keen to get out on the water itself, hire kayaks at Talland Sand beach and paddle along the stunning coastline. If you’d rather explore on two legs, join the South West Coast Path at Looe to hike an undemanding, relatively flat section of the long-distance hike to Polperro (all 10 minutes). Let the kids burn off energy on the zipwires or clamber over the inflatable aquapark at Adrenalin Quarry (25 minutes), and when only animals will do, take them to the Monkey Sanctuary (20 minutes) to learn about endangered primates and encounter Barbary macaques.
