What customers say
This campsite boasts a lovely, peaceful riverside/lakeside spot with tidy sites & clean washrooms. Staff are friendly & helpful, the cafe's good, and there are tons of kids' activities. Mosquitoes are common near the water. Showers cost extra, and some heard road noise. Pack out your trash!

Primitive grass and gravel RV campsite (lake view)
Liked Easy to find. Very friendly and helpful checking in Lady that walked me and Teddy to our pitch which was as described, hard standing with a woodern decking area over the water. Toilets and showers were nearby also a washing up area too. Peace and tranquility, the river Medway accessed through a locked gate with river side walks towards the Hop Farm or Yalding ( the Boathouse pub).
Disliked Nothing

Very disappointed
Primitive forest floor RV campsite (woodland)
Liked Nice location near the water
Disliked After staying at Bainbridge Campsite I have to say I was very disappointed with the facilities.
I arrived in my campervan and was directed to park alongside what appeared to be a roadside area, which was not at all what I expected from a woodland campsite experience.
The campsite has only three toilets for all guests, which proved inadequate. On one morning, we had to wait around 20 minutes to use the facilities, as some people appeared to be using the toilets to wash themselves. The one and only Shower cost £1 per use, which feels excessive when pitches are already £30 per night.
We also purchased a bucket of firewood for £5, only to find that the wood was very damp and difficult to use. Considering the quality, the price seemed unreasonable. The website states that guests are not allowed to bring their own firewood, which makes the poor quality even more frustrating.
Another issue was waste disposal. Although there were some bins on site, we were told to take our rubbish home. It would be helpful if more bins were provided so guests could dispose of their waste responsibly before leaving.
As a campervan user, I was also disappointed that there was no facility to empty a portable toilet or chemical toilet. This is a basic service that many campervan and motorhome users would expect.
Overall, I felt the campsite was poor value for money and lacked several facilities that should be standard for a site charging these prices.

From the manager: Thank you for your review. Such a shame to see a 1/10 review when your friend that stayed with you that weekend gave a 10/10 review.
We do not have any roads within the campsite. Your pitch was in the woodland opposite the lake.
It does state in our information that showers are chargeable, therefore you would have been well aware of this before arrival. This covers the cost of standing charge, Kwh charge, staff to clean them and cleaning products. There is also two showers not one.
Your friend came and told us about the wood and was most satisfied and happy when it was all exchanged and you was given a new batch including extra for the inconvenience and our sincere apologies.
Again, it clearly states in our information that rubbish is to be taken home. You would have known this when you booked. However it is something we are looking into.
We wish you well on any further camping adventures you have and would like to remind you that our family works tirelessly to provide everything for campers visiting us. We would have liked to hear from you about your concerns whilst on site so that we could have hopefully rectified and discussed them rather than in a 1/10 review when you got home compared to your friends 10/10.
To avoid disappointment on your travels, please do take the time to read all information campsites provide to ensure it suits your needs before staying as everything you have raised is clearly stated. Not to mention the running costs of a campsite from maintenance, cleaning and restocking toilet/showers/washing up areas, improving facilities, grass cutting, chainsaw work, machinery, insurances, staffing, water, electric, being on call 24/7 for guests etc. We are a small family run business and put everything we have into what we do.
