Liked Picturesque woodland setting next to the river, friendly and accommodating family-run site, kayak and paddleboards available to rent to explore along a beautiful stretch of the River Medway, secure at night

Primitive grass and gravel RV campsite (lake view)
Liked We had a lovely spot by the lake with our own decking. Even after being there only a couple of hours, felt like we’d been there ages. Very peaceful and relaxing. Ideal location right on the Medway Valley river walk. We walked our dog one way in the morning, and the other way in the afternoon. The on site cafe is very good. Good menu with reasonable prices. The evening was idyllic…sitting on our reclining chairs by the lake with our lights on with a bottle of wine.
Think we will be returning often, as we were looking for a site in reasonable distance for frequent weekends away.

Primitive forest floor tent campsite (woodland)
Liked Great location next to the river. We camped in the wooded area which was quiet with plenty of space between other campers.
Disliked My poached eggs were not runny :)

From the manager: Thank you for your review, we are so pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay in the woods and felt it was a great location. We don't personally serve eggs for campers but will pass this onto the café 😉
Amazing site
Primitive grass and earth tent campsite
Liked The atmosphere, scenery, river, all of it!!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay from the minute we got there. Friendly helpful staff, loads to do. Our son was so happy on the field playing the games and on the rope swing. Not sure why people are commenting on the showers, its a quick wash at camping not and all inclusive resort 😂 we had plenty on time in there for all of £2. Hired some kayaks which was so easy and fun and and bonus to be able to do this all in the same place. Pitch was spacious, facilities were so clean, cutely decorated and you can tell they put thought into it. Relaxed and well thought out

Thank you for your comments about thew showers.
We are glad you enjoyed the kayaks. We are so pleased to have the hire options available for everyone. this year.
We hope to see you again soon.
Great campsite with lovely river walks.
Primitive forest floor tent campsite (woodland)
Liked Lovely little campsite, with some lovely walks along the river. We camped in the woods which the kids absolutly loved.
Disliked Our only dislike which was'nt actually the campsite's fault is it can be a bit noisy at night if your next to the river like we was. As there were speed boats speeding up and down. But apart from that the campsite itself is lovely.

From the manager: Thank you for your review, We are glad you and the children had such a good time. We love our camping spots in the woods, particularly in the recent hot weather.
It's a shame you were disturbed by people not being respectful along the river of an evening. Unfortunately they were a group camping at a nearby campsite that have since moved on.
We appreciate you mentioning this was out of our control and we hope to welcome you back again soon.
Amazing campsite and really attentive caring staff all round .

Great site
Primitive grass and earth tent campsite
Liked Loved the location right on the river, quiet, small site with an amazing cafe. The breakfast was delicious.
We rode our bikes along the river, path was very narrow at times and the brambles scratched but very enjoyable, all the same, definitely come again.

Woodland and riverside walks, ponds and…
Primitive grass and earth tent campsite
Liked Woodland and riverside walks, ponds and paddleboarding. There were plenty of adventurous play areas for kids, but ours tended to just like playing with the many sticks laying around.
Disliked Amenities. Wash station had no hot water or drain. Toilet in the horse box was nicely decorated but very cramped, and the showers experience was stressful. Put £1 in outside the shower, and your 3 min starts immediately, so you have to rush in, lock the door, strip, shower and rinse before it cuts off leaving you soapy, or have a friend outside supporting you. There were also 3 massive and extremely bright security lights shining on my tent every night, combined with the sound of generators, let me know we were in an industrial estate. Place has potential to be lovely, but feels unfinished.

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed the woodland and river side walks.
The drainage from the sinks goes back into the ground, recycling the water which we feel is more environmentally friendly and particularly in this extreme heat.
Sorry if you felt the toilet was cramped, we have 2 other toilets including a large fully accessible toilet that was shown on arrival.
We had our electrician attend site today and reprogrammed the showers, £1 now equals 5 minutes of shower time. If the person before you does not turn the shower to 'stop' before you put in your coins, sadly it will start immediately. We do have a sign that states this but unfortunately cannot constantly check if people are doing so.
Such a shame you did not camp river / lake side on the field instead. There was plenty of room on the 3 nights you stayed. We currently cannot help when units in the estate run extra machinery in the heat. We have never had this level of noise before and we are looking into provisions.
Fantastic, beautiful little spot. We loved it.
Primitive forest floor tent campsite (woodland)
Liked We staying in a woodland plot and it was brilliant. The closest thing you can get to wild camping without actually having no facilities. The staff were also fantastic. I didn't catch their names but both were very friendly and helpful. Cafe is lovely on site as well.
Disliked Very small detail. We were quite far away from the only available toilet. 1 toilet on camp that size feels inadequate. We didn't have any problems with it and it was all very clean, but I imagine on busier times, it could be an issue
