Liked: Nice site, cosy entertainment area. Friendly staff apart from reception.
Disliked: Wasn’t told beforehand about booking activities so everything was booked. Ladies toilet's were almost touching doors very cramped some blocked more room in a toilet tent. Peacocks very loud.

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We truly value all constructive feedback, as it helps us continue to improve the experience we offer our guests. However, we would like to clarify a few of the points you raised:
Our outdoor activities are extremely popular and do tend to get booked up in advance. However, please note that our soft play area and adventure golf do not require pre-booking, so there is always something available for families to enjoy on-site.
We're sorry to hear that you found our toilet facilities to be cramped. We are aware that with a high number of guests on site, occasional maintenance issues can arise. Please be assured that our housekeeping and maintenance teams monitor the facilities throughout the day to address any concerns as quickly as possible.
Regarding the peacocks—yes, they do enjoy making their presence known! However, many of our guests find the abundance of wildlife on site to be one of the highlights of their stay. We believe the natural surroundings add to the unique charm and experience of our park.
We appreciate your feedback and hope this offers some clarity. If you have any further questions or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly.
Kind regards,
Team Marwell

Liked: Nice site. Near the zoo. Enjoyed the quad bike activity. Nice big pitches.
Disliked: Toilets not well cleaned. No hot water for 2 out of 4 nights. Toilet paper constantly ran out and generally disgusting.
Loud music played by guests which the rules stated was not allowed. Dogs not well looked after by guests.

Liked: Great location, good amount of space for the tent, amazing pizzas. Lots of space to run the kids around and play various games. A really quiet site.
Disliked: The showers were very cold and mainly just a trickle. The toilets and shower block felt quite dirty and that they needed to be checked more regularly, the toilets kept being blocked.

Liked: The staff, both in the restaurant and through the resort itself (on reception, cleaners, everyone) worked exceptionally hard. They were really helpful, both before our trip and during. The cleaners worked hard at keeping the toilets/showers clean. This is our fourth visit to Marwell and we still enjoy it as much as we did the first time we visited. The kids love the softplay, play area and the mini golf. The evening entertainment was also enjoyable.
Disliked: The high-ropes weren't on, which was understandable, but by not knowing, this prevented us from booking other activities in advance, which were then obviously fully booked.

Liked: Lovely field with wild grass behind us so attractive pitch. Play Park, adventure golf and the restaurant was brilliant. Ice creams were a reasonable price which was a surprise as so many put prices up when they have a captured audience.
Disliked: The amount of pitches to a shower block was insane! Never have i seen 3 fields of campers sharing one toilet and shower block. This needs sorting! There was no hot water all weekend for showers or washing up. This was an expensive pitch and its not much to expert hot water. Lots of people complaining. Very disappointing. Overuse meant they also werent clean.

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We truly value all constructive feedback, as it helps us continue to improve the experience we offer our guests. However, we would like to clarify a few of the points you raised:
We have two shower blocks on site, offering a total of 30 showers and 24 toilets, which is well within the recommended provision for the number of camping pitches we offer.
During your stay, the site owner personally took responsibility for cleaning the shower blocks. He began his work each day at 5:30 AM and continued to check and maintain the facilities throughout the day, ensuring that soap dispensers and toilet rolls were regularly restocked and that the areas remained clean and dry.
While we did experience a brief issue with the hot water in one of the blocks over the weekend, a plumber was called immediately, and the issue was resolved within two hours. Our second shower block remained fully operational with hot water throughout the weekend.
We appreciate your feedback and hope this offers some clarity. If you have any further questions or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us directly.
Kind regards,
Team Marwell

Liked: Great restaurant and bar area. Live music on the Saturday night brought people together. Crazy golf onsite, well cared for and an adventurous, well designed course. Fantastic girl team making fresh stone baked pizzas. Pitch was clean and level. Large playing field for kids to safely run around. There were some additional activities but all sold out before we arrived. Guests were respectful of evening noise curfew.
Disliked: No shop! Real missed opportunity. We had to drive to local garage to get the basics. No heart to the campsite as reception was closed quite early and no visible site team at all. Toilet and shower block were quite dirty with no obvious signs of cleaning during the day. After rain, the floors were slippery and muddy and sadly stayed like it all day.
Washing up area was poor, water came out as dribble and lukewarm.
Security was non existent.

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We truly value all constructive feedback, as it helps us to continue improving the experience we offer our guests. However, I would like to clarify a few of the points you raised:
Shop: While our on-site shop isn't officially open until the end of July, we do currently offer a selection of essentials available to purchase in the restaurant. These include bread, milk, butter, bacon, drinks, bottled water, and more.
Reception hours: I'm surprised to hear your concerns regarding our reception hours. Over the weekend of your stay, the reception was staffed until 7:30 PM on Friday, 6:00 PM on Saturday, and 3:30 PM on Sunday. Additionally, our site warden is always available by phone outside of these hours should any assistance be needed.
Cleanliness of shower blocks: We're very sorry to hear you were disappointed in this area. The site owner himself personally cleaned the shower blocks during your stay, beginning each day at 5:30 AM and continuing checks throughout the day. He ensured that all soap dispensers and toilet rolls were replenished and that the facilities were kept clean and dry. While we did experience a brief issue with the hot water in one block, a plumber was called immediately, and the problem was resolved within two hours. The second shower block had fully functioning hot water all weekend.
Security: Our on-call site warden performs regular checks around the site throughout the day, up until 10:00 PM, to ensure the safety and well-being of all our guests.
We appreciate your feedback and hope this helps clarify the points you raised. Should you have any further concerns or suggestions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly.
