General

  • Remote and rural Lancashire site in a peaceful forest clearing
  • Roughly a mile from Stocks Reservoir; Settle railway 25 minutes' drive
  • An accredited Dark Sky Discovery site; café open seven days a week

Gisburn Forest Hub is a simple site set in a forest clearing in a remote part of eastern Lancashire. Surrounded by trees and roughly a mile from the edge of Stocks Reservoir, guests staying here can look forward to inner peace and seclusion – including after dark, as this is an accredited Dark Sky Discovery site.

Gisburn Forest Hub is also the gateway to some of this area's best and most adventurous mountain bike trails (although there's a variety of routes to choose from if you're holidaying with guests who have limited range). The area is full of fab walks too, as it lies on the edge of the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is a short drive from the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Amenities here include a café that serves drinks and snacks seven days a week, a beer garden and a toilet and shower block (new units open for summer 2021). A short walk away, there is also a forest glade with an outdoor performance space – head here to see arts and music events on weekends.

In terms of location, Gisburn Forest Hub is handily located about three miles from the small village of Tosside (where there is a tea rooms), 25 minutes’ drive from Settle and its scenic railway route to the Lakes or half an hour from Clitheroe and the river Ribble.

Please note, due to the location of this pop-up campsite there may be midges around; repellent is available to purchase in the café if required.

We loved our stay at Gisburn Forest hub. The location is really enchanting amongst the woods and stepping out of the tent in the middle of the night to look at the dark sky was spectacular, the stars and the moon were so bright. The site has a real festival feel, we love the little pop-up bar and the curry/burger van that came along in the evenings, the music the charming lights and the really friendly “hippy“ vibe was really special. There is a café for use during the day, So perfect for a quick cuppa or a bacon sandwich in the morning. You can take lots of lovely beautiful walks or bike rides literally from your tent ranging from easy to strenuous, short to long.

Absolutely loved our stay , we didn't wanna leave. Staff was so friendly and helpful. The forest at night was so magical with the lights and music , marshmallow roasting, was beautiful. Very spacious, the bar was lovely, food was lovely. Kids enjoyed the park and enjoyed running around freely on a safe ground. I would and have recommended this site. The pleasure to have NO interent or signal has been a pleasure, proper family time. Thank you for having us and giving us an amazing weekend and amazing memories, definitely will be coming again..

How friendly and helpful staff where on site, everything was just perfect, the firepit in the forest was magical, kids loved being free to run and explore in a safe environment, absolutely no internet so the kids could be kids and not stuck to devices, we ended up staying an extra night and we’ll definitely be returning.

Location was great; ideal base for accessing cycle routes & walking. Kids could go off & explore in the forest

    Disliked:

Was expecting the bar; food & entertainment to be on; little disappointed to learn it wasn’t when we arrived, as that had been the sole purpose of us booking. No phone signal or wifi though which the kids weren’t too happy with but fine for us adults
