What customers say
A simple, scenic campsite in open fields. Generally clean facilities (flushing toilets, cold shower). Relaxed vibe, good for kids, close to walks. Note: limited facilities, potential noise, and a chilly shower. Remote and basic.

Noisy party campsite
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Location was great - beautiful views and nice big field to enjoy them from. Check-in was easy.
Disliked Noisy! It was a party campsite from early evening to the middle of the night, people playing music at full blast and talking at full volume, throwing their rubbish everywhere like total slobs. Toilets were too few and leaking, regularly gross due to the number of people using only 3 loos. Shower cubicle didn't lock for me and the shower is cold. Drinking water taps right next to where people were camping and the sink for washing up was tiny, I didn't bother with it. No recycling. Also expensive considering all of these negatives, and in comparison with a much nicer campsite in Moffat I'd just come from that was only £10 per night.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Large quiet site, lots of places to pitch your tent, clean and nice staff
Disliked It wasn’t disclosed that there is no running hot water so couldn’t have a shower, had to wait more than 20 minutes to go to the toilet as work was going on and there is only two toilets and no lights on the site for night time.

Avoid like the plague
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Location
Disliked Absolutely furious with some of the other guests blasting loud music till early hours on both nights we were there. Rang the number provided on both nights at around midnight. Guy turned up and drrove around the site and drove off. Nothing said to guests. They played loud music until 2am. About 4 groups of people. One young group also playing football in the middle of the field at 5.32am. Unbelievable..... some other guests i spoke to left that day because of the noise to find another site.
2nd night i rang him again at midnight and again drove around and nothing said to guests. I told him i had to sleep in my car at the furthest point away from the noise and still heard them at 1am. My girlfriend stayed in the tent as was too tired to move as we had done a 15 mile hike that day. Lots of people were complaining and hopefully they will also put honest reviews on too.
Shower was see through and freezing. Only 3 toilets for all the guests and they were flooded.. i have taken videos but unable to put them on here. Shame.
I will never come back or recommend unless you love to party until you want and no camping respect for others.

From the manager: This review is completely not factual.
- Showers, the showers CLEARLY state they are not heated before you arrive. The door is not see-through if you lock the door to the whole side of the trailer, giving you a changing room also.
- Noise, we spoke to many people about noise at various stages of the evening and all were happy so not sure who you spoke to on site. Both times when we came up at 11 and midnight there was no noise on site at all.
Completely not factual review, please don’t come again.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Available last minute, easy to book. Location good for lakes availability and close ish to pooley bridge but still about 15 min drive or so.
Disliked No check in service so didn’t meet campsite staff which felt odd. Felt a little like why have we paid £25? Grass was long, got stung by a bee. Toilet block was like a portaloo block.
