What customers say
This well-kept, tranquil site in a lovely spot has friendly, helpful owners. Level, spacious pitches often have picnic tables and fire pits. Clean washrooms are consistently praised. Great for walks, right on the Cumbria Way, and a short walk to a charming village with shops. Guests often return.

Beautiful down by the lake
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Had a fabulous time there, right down by the lake, plenty of space to play games, beautiful surroundings. The fire pit was great at night time, perfect for marshmallow roasting. The toilet and shower area was clean and easy to access and will definitely be coming back 😁

Power optional grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Lovely site, clean and well maintained. Quiet area perfect for families and an amazing river to dip in. Very flat pitches
Disliked Showers ran out of hot water by the 3rd person on the first night so the next day we chose a random middle of the day time and they were better. Ground very stoney to put pegs in.

From the manager: Didn’t read the cancellation policy then ? hardly our fault your tent broke we had a pitch reserved for you that no one else could book, not sure how you can rate the facilities seen as you didn’t even stay here.

Great value site.
Power optional grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Clean and tidy site. Every pitch had its own picnic bench which was nice. Toilets and shower were clean. The shower was a good temperature and whilst there was a sign saying there is a limited supply of hot water and to be courteous to others making me worried id end up with a cold shower it was not an issue and the site was fairly well booked.
Disliked The pitches side to side weee good side however the pitches are set along a path and the distance from the tent across the road wasnt as good as we could hear the conversations of the people in the tent across from us. Its not enough to affect another stay. We felt the welcome was a little frosty. We had drove a little past reception as we had missed the small sign saying reception and arrived at a sign with phone numbers to call to get pitch number. The person on the phone felt very frosty and annoyed that we had gone past reception, it was around 20m past. The woman then brought our booklet with toilet and shower codes out but again the welcome didnt as warm and welcoming as we have had from other sites.
