Liked Peaceful and quiet. Like the fact that each pitch has its own picnic table and fire pit. Toilets and showers cleaned everyday. 5 minutes walk to the pub

Fantastic stay, perfect for switching off from the world.
Power optional grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked This was our first time camping as a family of 3 and prior we were nervous our little one would get bored. But this lovely little quote site allowed us all to switch off and relax. Spend time together and move away from the technology.
A great little site, the pitch we had (No.2) was huge and right next to the stream-get for relaxing with a book and coffee next too.
Friendly welcome, and would see the host on the site daily, ensure bins were empty and facilities were clean.
There is a facilities block in the middle of the site, with x2 showers and M/F toilets. Cleaned regular by owners.
Showers were decent/clean and never had an issue with hot water.
Small little kitchen area for washing dishes.
Site provided BBQ stands and fire pits at each pitch.
There is a stream running along the site, which was lovley to walk round and explore.
Yes, there isn’t any WiFi, communal space or park if you have kids, but this was one of our main reasons for booking. Staying here is what you make it if a family. There’s a lovely village a 5 minute walk away, small local shop, a few gift stores, a few cafes and a delicious pub (oddfellows arms)- definitely book a table of visiting for food as it gets busy in the evening. Our favourite place in the village was midtown milk house- going daily for fresh milk and milkshakes, they also have some amazing local and fresh produce.
Plenty of nature, amazing views and scenary to take in and explore. Would recommend the Whelpo bridge walk starting from the site it’s self and also the Scarness Bay/Bowmess Bay Circular walk (25 min drive from site to Bassenthwaite lake), both are easy walks around 2 miles perfect if you want a stroll or have round kids. Provide some lovely sites to explore and incredible views.
We will definitely be back to this site.
Disliked There wasn’t anything to dislike for us during our stay.
If I had to pick one thing it would be having the remember the codes to the bathroom and showers- and that tells you how good our stay was it that was the only thing to mention. (And it wasn’t really a problem)

Power optional grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked Second time staying and again it was a pleasure. Pitches are a good size, the showers are decent and clean, toilets were kept clean and there is a wash cabin with solar panels to charge your devices if needed.
Great location top, with Caldbeck a 5 minute walk away, and Keswick about 30 minutes drive away.
