What customers say
Clean, quiet and great value! Reviewers loved the spacious, well-equipped pitches and spotless facilities. Ideal for outdoor types with easy village access. Just a heads-up about occasional dog noise and the footpath.

Was good, but could have been slightly better without dogs off leash.
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Nice clean pitch, fire pit, toilets/shower blocks nice and clean, the woman who met me gave me good clear directions to my pitch.
Disliked 3 dogs not on leash on the next peg over, 1 of them come over a few times trying to rummage through our food bag, and in the morning another off the leash dog come onto my pitch and had a pi** on my tent bag and sleeping bag cover.

Power optional grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Lovely small campsite which was well maintained. The facilities while a bit dated were perfectly serviceable and always kept very clean with a code to get in to prevent people not using the campsite from using them.
Pitches were a good size, there were plenty of picnic tables and fire pits around to use.
Disliked There is a public footpath running straight through the campsite which I was not aware of until I saw the signs when I arrived. This wasn’t particularly a problem although my personal preference is not to frequently have people walking past my tent. There were also many people (not camping) who ignored the signs to keep their dogs on a lead which resulted in dogs running up to the entrance of my tent much to my dog’s surprise!
Apart from being more open about the public footpath and how close to the tents it passes there’s nothing the owners of the campsite could do to change this. For me it was something I would have preferred to know to make a choice about booking. If I had a reactive dog it would have been an issue - just something for people to be aware of.

One of the best campsites I’ve stayed at whilst Hiking
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked 1. The best campsite shower I’ve ever had. Lean and spacious shower cubicles. I always shower post-walk in the late afternoon/early evening so never have any trouble with there being a wait.
2. Good size pitches that are level with short grass. Perfect for my two-man trekking pole tent.
3. AMAZING value!
4. Close to the shop, cafe and most importantly - the pub.

Loved it!
Power optional grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Really lovely campsite, small and ideal if you want somewhere peaceful. It’s a lot of backpackers so not many people there for long periods. Showers and toilets all really clean, washing up area very useful. We liked the local village, and the walk to the Bobbin Mill nearby. Owners very friendly and helpful.
Disliked Nothing! We’d definitely go back again.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Great campsite, easy check in. Good sized pitches all with a picnic bench and fire pit. Toilets and showers have a key code. 3 toilets in the women’s and 2 separate showers with a good changing area. Kept nice and clean. Two sinks in the other building for washing dishes and info board for the local area. Short walk into the village with a great pub and little shops and cafes. Nice walks nearby
