What customers say
Enjoy a peaceful, rustic escape with lovely farm animals & stunning views. Basic portaloos onsite, with toilets nearby. Praised for space & quiet. A great Lake District base. Some noted a lack of taps/bins & a remote feel. Rocky access track. Good value; guests would return.

Amazing site with friendly staff who couldn’t help more.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked We really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and friendly owner. The scenery was something else and there was a pub less than five minute walk down the track. Very quiet so makes for a great night sleep. Plenty of space to pitch up!

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked The beautiful views, peaceful, ample space, i felt like I had me in private area, dry ground, clean toilets, use of clean water to washpots all boil for drinking water.
Plenty of walks to go on and access to a pub called the whistling pig just down the road. The staff down there are lovely and the food was amazing one hundred percent recommend this stay, i felt very safe as a solo female traveller.
Disliked There could be some form of lighting solar lighting on the entrance would be good , with the use of a head Torch. It was fine to find the toilets at dusk.

Amazing view, truly the best camping…
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Amazing view, truly the best camping pitch I’ve been to. Being able to have a BBQ on the pitch made it better. It’s very clean, portaloo toilets on site, spacious land so you can park up and pitch where you’d like. Thank you for the district experience!

A great value site with excellent views which could be improved.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Nice quiet site and free to choose pitch.
Disliked It would be a big improvement to have mains water connected. I appreciate that there is no drain so flush toilets would not be possible but some more portaloos at the far end of the site would be good, as well as another water point.
