General

  • Off-grid site in a secluded corner of rural Cheshire
  • A 20-minute drive to the edge of the Peak District; 10 to Congleton
  • Eco retreat with campfire areas and solar showers; breakfast available

Broadleaf Forest Adventures is a peaceful spot in rural Cheshire where you can drift away to a time before email, smartphones and electric light. This off-grid site is a proper walkers' paradise – set in an untouched woodland where there's plenty of scope for roaming, Broadleaf Forest Adventures is also a mere 20-minute drive from the edge of the Peak District National Park.

Having packed a tent and a pair of walking boots, you may well be wondering about other items to bring along. Start off with a trusty torch – this off-grid site has no lighting (aside from the stars and any campfires you've built among the trees). Handy hands-free head torches are also available to hire on site; bundles of logs and kindling are also for sale. The friendly staff can also sort you out with a breakfast hamper and are able to accommodate a wide range of dietary requirements.

In terms of practicalities, this site has a back to basics composting loo and nifty solar-powered showers. A shared kitchen space is also on hand for holiday meal prep. To help maintain peaceful vibes in the woods and keep the critters that live there happy, all cars are parked a short walk away; the site staff will greet you when you arrive and help carry your stuff through the field that leads to the pitches.

If you do need to make the odd trip back to civilisation, Congleton (10 minutes' drive) is a rather pleasant place to do it. Here there are supermarkets and restaurants, as well as local attractions like a museum, watersports centre and golf course.

Please note

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, customers can amend their dates with the campsite/holiday park free of charge for all stays up to, and including, Nov. 29, 2020.

No cars/motorcycles at the site. All cars must be parked in the designated area.

Continental touring caravans (caravans built with the door on the right-hand side) are not permitted.

Bookings must not consist of more than 6 different households.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Minimum spacing of 15 metres between pitches.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the site are unlit.

Guests must bring their own duvets, pillows, sheets and towels when staying in rental accommodation. You will not be allowed to stay if you do not bring these items.

Onsite entertainment will not be offered due to restrictions imposed by the coronavirus outbreak.

Owing to government regulations, groups of 10 or more people are not permitted.

At least one of the party members must be aged 21 or over.

I cannot stress this enough, if your looking for 'wild' camping near Manchester this is the one! From someone who has been to their fare share of wild or rustic sites this is the genuine article. Out in the sticks, cooking on a real fire, quiet surrounding.

Great location, friendly welcome, good facilities considering its 'wild' camping. Decent toilet, plenty of water provided.
Great that you can cook on a real fire, really made the experience for me.

The option for a communal area. Own fire pit/cooking area. Very clean bell tent with everything we needed just took our own bedding, airbeds and pillows. Can get windy so we bought an extra duvet. Had the baskets for the morning all locally sourced. Toilet was clean, little fairy houses at the back and spacious between neighbours. Great location. Highly recommended

We had such a wonderful time camping at Broadleaf! It is an absolute hidden gem.

On arrival, the customer service was second to none - we were guided to the site and informed about how the site works.

We were allowed a proper campfire, which was so good! And it is well located for lots of beautiful walks just a short drive away.

It's worth noting that is a bushcraft site, so there is no electricity or running water. We felt that this added to our experience - the site is kitted out really well with a compost toilet and lots of water was provided.

Thank you for such a wonderful stay! We definitely hope to be back.
