What customers say
This quiet campsite offers basic wild camping with a clean portaloo and bottled water. Praised for stunning valley views, it's ideal for short stays and exploring Hebden Bridge, though the walk back up is steep. Some found it a bit pricey for the basic amenities.

Simple site with great views
Primitive grass and gravel campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Exactly as described, a basic site with just a portaloo and amazing views. We walked down to HB (about half a mile, all downhill), had planned to walk back too but it is a v steep hill so we got a taxi back instead (£10).
Disliked Possibly a bit overpriced at £20 a night given the very basic amenities. Also the promised bottled water didn't arrive but we had gone prepared with a full water container so it wasn't a problem.

Perfect for one night
Primitive grass and gravel campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Just a field with a couple of picnic benches and immaculately clean portaloo. We had the whole site to ourselves. Well drained field and was dry even after a week of horrific rain.
Perfect for a one night stay.
It’s our go to place when we want to watch something at piece hall, you can just jump on the train for a 7 min ride and the station is just over a mile walk (or taxi ride!)
We even had our bottles of drinking water personally delivered.
Disliked You’ll need chocks as it’s on a bit of a slope.

We had a great time at…
Primitive grass and gravel campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked We had a great time at Happy Valley camping. It’s a lovely picturesque rural location with terrific views across the valley.
The ground must drain well as although it rained, the grass soon dried out.
It was so peaceful and quiet with the just the sound of birds the and odd walker passing by.
June was a great host and was on hand if we needed anything.
If you want a no frills campsite (with a portaloo and bottled water provided), this is a beautiful location. As other campers have said, it is up a steep hill but so worth it for the views.
