What customers say

This site is well-kept, peaceful, and welcoming, with super clean facilities and hot showers. Pitches are roomy & level, with handy dog washes and secure bike storage. Easy access to Beverley and local shops, plus nice countryside walks. Some found open pitches windy, and shower hooks were few.

Primitive cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked This is a lovely little site on a safe working farm with a good mix of level pitches for vans and tents. Clean facilities cleverly housed in old farm buildings. It is very suitable for people of all ages, including families with children.
Apart from lights at the facilities block, there are no other lights which means it is peacefully dark at night.
Close to Beverley, accessible on bike or by buses from nearby stops.

Disliked Only small disadvantage is there are no shops or pubs close by, so a vehicle trip is necessary. On the other hand, this can avoid expensive meals out, good for families working to a budget.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are very pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Our nearest shop is Morrison's Supermarket which is a 10 minute walk from the camp site - close enough to easily walk to but far enough to deter un-necessary expenses as you said. Many thanks again and Best Wishes from us all at Butt Farm.

Primitive cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Great size pitch. The site isn't too big that you're far away from the utilities. Kettle in the utility is a nice touch for making speedy cuppas. Plenty of water taps around the site.

The site was occupied by old and young. Noise is kept to a minimum for a peaceful weekend stay.

The site is clean and well maintained. Everything you need.

We chose to stay here due to the proximity of Beverley Westwood parkrun which is a short drive away. Close to Morrisons for supplies.

Excellent communication in advance and on the day to notify us of roadworks. Clear instructions for the pitch on arrival.

Fresh eggs for £2 a box and PYO sunflowers available on the Sunday.

Excellent value. Would definitely stay again.

Disliked The toilet cubicles are on the narrow side, wouldn't suit everyone. We would have liked to have brought our own firepit and wood, the rental price for fire pits is on the high side which put us off.

From the manager: Thank you for your kind review and your lovely photos.

Our bathrooms are within disused farm buildings so can therefore only be a certain size.

There is one larger shower in each bathroom with a stool which is easily accessible for all. We hope you found them clean at all times 🙌

Firepits - unfortunately we have allowed people to use their own before however we have ended up with burnt grass and plastics / wet wood being burnt which has caused high levels of smoke on the site so have had to ban the use of these.

We only use good quality dry wood which does not smoke and the box will last an evening.

Thanks again

Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Showers lovely and hot, toilets clean. Excellent recycling point. Lovely quiet pitch. Nice to see the goats and chickens.

Disliked Shower drainage poor in ladies, was like a swimming pool by time I'd finished. Took ages to drain away and lots of squeegeeing.
Lane to site is quite long and busy. Got stuck a number of times leaving as sunflower field opening day and lots of cars and a taxi trying to get in. Timing of sunflowers opening would be better for after check out of site to ease congestion.

From the manager: Hi Klare
Thanks so much for your kind review

On arrival all our guests are given a welcome note which has our contact number on for guests to contact us if they have anything they require whilst on site…..

Showers - the filters are cleared regularly and if they were blocked when you were here all you needed to do was let us know and we would have unblocked them…

We text everyone the morning of the sunflower opening and you asked re the traffic - I let you know that if need be we would stop the traffic for you so unsure as to why you didn’t ask us to do this… We were in reception from 11am-4pm…check out is by 12pm

It is a single track to the campsite however there are plenty of passing places.

Travellers Rest gypsy wagon (two person)

Liked Clean shower block with plentiful hot water.
Kitchen area provided fridge, freezer, kettle, charging points and hot water.
Site was spotlessly clean and was quiet by 10pm each evening.
Friendly and helpful welcome on reception by owner's lovely mum.

Disliked Nothing to dislike. Hope to come back!

Local attractions

Get hither to the Yorkshire coast, the Yorkshire countryside, the Yorkshire Wolds, cities like York and Lincoln, or to venture further afield via the P&O ferry port at Hull 10 miles away. But to Beverley first... it's a bit of a beaut, with cobbled streets and a magnif minster, piles of old buildings, markets and music fests, and the chance to see geegees at Beverley Racecourse. Market days are on Wednesdays and Saturdays: if you're off to buy some bits, have a tipple afterwards in one of Beverley's 40 or so pubs. (One, the Sun Inn, dates back to the 16th century... just so you know...) You can also get to Hull city centre within eight miles, Humber Bridge in nine, Driffield in 15 and the seaside town of Bridlington in 25. A bit further away but within a decent distance for day trips are York (30 miles), Lincoln (50 miles) and Leeds, 60 miles from Butt Farm.
