What customers say
This adults-only site is loved for its quiet spot next to Kings Forest, with direct access to many walking trails. Guests rave about the large, level pitches and spotless washrooms. Staff are friendly and helpful, and dogs are very welcome, even getting their own wash station. Shops are scarce and cell signal is spotty, but most folks can't wait to come back.

What more could you want.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Well signed and easy to find. A sizeable site with large designated areas for motor homes/ caravans and lodges. The field for tents was huge and flat. The facilities were excellent, spotless toilets and showers plus a basin for washing and a sink for washing up. Lovely surroundings and peaceful.

Liked Adult only environment with excellent toilet and shower facilities.
Location - next to Kings Forest and Country Park across the road.
Very peaceful location.
People very friendly and horses being cared for right next door with them walking past regularly was very pleasing.
Dog wash was an extra bonus. I didn't use it (hot and sunny so no muddy paws this time) but great to have the facilities there.
Massive pitch size so not all crammed in and overhearing each other.
Being so close to 2 RAF bases was great - got to see and hear the planes.
A lot of wildlife in the forest and country park including deer, woodpeckers, buzzards, nightingales, geese, grebe, coots, moorhens, trout.
Disliked Ground was a bit stony and soil powdery - many tent pegs have died through contact with hidden stones and, when they did go in, they struggled to grip where the soil was a bit like sand. It was so dry though, it's not surprising the earth was so parched.
Quite a lot of ants around at the time of year that I visited - it didn't bother me but some people didn't like them being around their tents.

Reasonable first few days, but after returning from a day out I was greeted by an entitled gentleman that had removed my EHU cable and placed my personal items to one side- he’s vehicle was much larger and decided the pitch I was staying on suited him better
Apparently with the site owners permission. I was subsequently TOLD I should find another pitch. It appears the larger 8 wheeled more permanent stays take priority over smaller vehicles only staying a few nights… not the ending to my holiday id hoped for.

From the manager: Dear Karen
I can only apologise for the behaviour of the ‘entitled gentleman’. I wasn’t made aware that he had moved any of your personal belongings or removed your electric cable when I came to speak to you. During our conversation we talked about you having decided to leave early to get home for commitments the following day. I told you the ‘entitled gentleman was going to pitch somewhere else and under no circumstance were you to leave until you were ready. We value greatly ALL of our customers no matter the size of their camping accommodation. I really wish you would of called or come to find me so that I could have immediately resolved these issues.
