This spacious, family-friendly campsite offers a relaxed, "back to nature" vibe. Guests love the generous sites, central playground, and woodland walks. Hot showers and fire pit rentals are a hit. However, some found portable toilets lacking and unpleasant, with occasional shower issues reported.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Beautiful location. We adore exploring this site. The woods, the fields, this year we found redkites on the field and the children absolutely loved it.
Very chilled and relaxed feel. Good facilities. The pitches are huge! The kids play area gets better every year. This is our first choice for our yearly catch up with friends and it is perfect.
Disliked It was portaloos this year and we preferred the toilet units there has been in the past but this is a minor gripe and if using the portaloos keeps the price down then we are definitely not complaining!

Lots of space, great for families.
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Children’s play equipment including an a frame and hay bales in the centre kept the 6 kids camping with us happy for hours. Portaloos clean and lots of toilet paper, plenty of space in each pitch for cars and tents.
Disliked Only cold water for washing up, make sure you boil some hot in advance if needed.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Scenic, not overcrowded, good fire pits, near lots of activities. Would not hesitate to come again!
Disliked Even better if there was an alternative to portaloos

From the manager: Thank you very much Joe for your 9 score and your kind words. We love our firepits too! We've tried every type of toilet on site but beyond building a purpose built block, which the council would never give us permission for, we're stuck with either compost toilets, event toilets or portaloos. We've tried them all and Portaloos, although basic, seem to work the best.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked The peaceful location, pitch size and has all the basic camping essentials you'll need. The hay bales for the kids in the middle of the site is absolutely brilliant and they are hugely popular.
Disliked Despite the land owners providing a whole area for Dog owners they choose not to clean up after there animals on the path around the site. Pure selfishness, if you can't be bothered to clean up after your animals it needs the site owners to ban them from the site.
Cost per pitch needs looking at £30 per nignt is not good value. Or of you book multiple nights then offer a discount.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Beautiful setting and views. Really spacious pitches, we had plenty of room for a large tent plus a small one. Everyone respected the quiet hours so it was really peaceful at night. Great setup with the pitches around the edge of the field and space for kids to play in the middle. Our kids are teenagers now but it was lovely to see so many little kids playing and making friends.
Disliked Not much. I was a bit worried when I read there were portaloos but actually there were plenty of them so they never got too smelly, and when they started to get full on the Sunday (bank holiday weekend) a tanker came to empty them, so the owners were obviously taking good care of the facilities.

Liked The woods were nice and the hay bales.
Disliked The site is unmanned and nobody to enforce rules, there were issues with drugs and noise. The facilities are very basic for the price and the fact it’s unmanned.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're very sorry you had those types of issues at our family campsite. We always encourage campers to contact us immediately if there are problems like this as we're only a few minutes away.
Like many pop-up farm campsites, it's not manned 24/7 but there is someone on site for several hours each day at various points in the morning, lunchtime, late afternoon and early evening - although you may not have seen them, we're always checking everyone is okay, litter picking, taking additional payments, clearing rubbish and making sure all the facilities are in order.
