Entering into the touring park

General

  • Peaceful touring site near Bourne, Lincolnshire
  • Beautiful location near a river and woodland; dogs are welcome
  • Close to historic city of Stamford and the famed Burghley House

Grab the dog (if you've got one – no need to acquire one specially) and head to Cresslands Touring Park in South Lincolnshire for woodland walks and lazy days near the River Glen. A good base for exploring the surroundings and enjoying a bit of outdoor time, the park is five minutes from a peaceful woodland, for long walks and spotting wildlife. Guests can also head to the nearby river for a bit of fishing, or take bikes out onto quiet countryside lanes.

Not got a mutt? The site's also welcoming to cats, rabbits… even kids. Whoever's in your party, head to the opposite riverbank for a popular walking spot leading to the nature reserve along the Macmillan Way, a long-distance footpath linking Boston in Lincolnshire to Abbotsbury in Dorset.

After all that fresh air you won’t have to venture far for a drink and a bite to eat – Waterside Garden Centre is 500 metres away with a restaurant, and there are a few pubs around a mile away if you fancy some pub grub. Cresslands is four miles south of Bourne, which has a greater selection of eateries, and the historic city of Stamford, with its attractions such as the famed Burghley House and Park and open-air theatre, is about a 25-minute drive.

Bathroom facilities on site include two showers, two toilets and two wash basins with instant hot water and nifty extras including shaver ports and hand dryers.

Please note

Your dog must be tattooed or microchipped.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Excellent site with a 5* shower block and a friendly owner.10/29/2020

Such a beautiful campsite. David- the proprietor- was extremely welcoming and has put so much thought into creating a peaceful, safe and friendly space to holiday. The serviced pitches were well-spaced with easy access to utilities. The shower block was the best I’ve seen at a site: clean, a very attractive space and - most importantly- has plenty of hooks and benches in each cubicle so that things don’t get wet!

The covid arrangements were fantastic and actually meant that our family has exclusive access whilst inside, which was such a luxury.

Location of site meant easy access to sites of note in Lincolnshire and there’s a brilliant garden centre just a few yards along the road and the one-way, circular road system meant that our children could safely ride their bikes.

    Brilliant!

David has set up a great site at Cressland. He welcomes you as a friend to the site and walks/cycles you to your pitch personally.

Very relaxing, fantastic walks - so much wildlife to see (herons, egrets, muntjacs, damsel and dragon flies in abundance and if you are really lucky Kingfishers).

The pitch was perfect - just what we wanted. All the required amenities right on pitch. Plenty of space, hedged and private.

Cannot recommend this site enough and will go again.

A minor foot note - take ear plugs if you are not used to a bit of over night traffic noise. It did not affect us when we stayed.

Nothing to dislike about this site at all

From the manager...

Thank you John and Marianne! Love the photos, you must have been incredibly patient to get shots of the dragonflies!

The Manager was very welcoming and had set up some excellent Covid procedures including an engaged light on the toilet/shower facilities and clear instructions to disinfect after use. The toilet block is immaculate with lovely touches - decent toilet paper and decent sized showers. The site is attractively laid out with small hedges between decent sized pitches with nice touches - picnic area near stream and built barbecue.

    Disliked:

Noise from the road early in the morning but they had obviously tried to minimise this with banking and hedge
