Liked Family friendly chilled and lovely people this is the second time we've stay with our 3 children and we love it , toilets and showers are nice and clean lots too do in the local area we choose too just stay onsite and relax the children played for hours
Disliked I know some people mention the road noise but you do get used too it , it didn't effect our time there

From the manager: Anonymous, thank you for taking the time to leave a review on The Beeches Campsite.
You are so right about the road noise, we’ve tried everything in our power to reduce this but it’s unfortunately something we have to live with. Without sounding like a broken record, some people think it’s a massive problem but we are so glad you felt it didn’t make your stay a bad one with us.
The fact you’ve returned means we are getting things right and we take great pleasure in realising this. We are unfortunately situated where we are and you do need a car to get to us, and to travel to other destinations away from here. That is why we have catered for families with small children in getting the amount of play park equipment we have. The fact you felt you could relax whilst the children were playing is testament enough that you found our facilities more than acceptable. Thank you again for taking the time to leave us a review. Mick

From the manager: Andrew, thank you for taking the time to leave a review on The Beeches. Yes we are very nice, very friendly and helpful. What was it you particularly didn’t like about the toilets? These have been completely revamped earlier this year at a considerable amount of time, effort and cost to us. Were they left in a state that was unacceptable after someone else used them? Were they not to your satisfaction in other ways? This review doesn’t help us to see where things have gone wrong so it’s a bit like stabbing in the dark here. Mick
We've booked a couple of pictures…
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked We've booked a couple of pictures with the beaches this one was my daughter's , she wanted some time away from college and work , and the beaches were very welcoming for us all with the biggest stars being ben and richard who have welcomed every single one of my family (there was a lot of us) they treated us all like family.and anywhere they could help , they were there like a shot a lot of people have mentioned about the A17 unfortunately, that cannot be helped, it's just location, it's nowhere near as bad as what people said you do get used to it and it only seems to be bad on certain days but again we're used to this.We live on a main road and it's definitely a lot quieter than where we live we would all stay again AN AMAZING MASSIVE , THANK YOU TO BEN AND RICHARD😊
Disliked Again , the only thing we could dislike about it was the Ants (bring ant powder)

Had a lovely 2 week stay…
Powered grass campsite
Liked Had a lovely 2 week stay on this campsite and have to say the people who were looking after it on behalf of the wardens (richard and his son ben) were absolutely fantastic, some of the nicest people you could meet and really went above and beyond to help our stay go smoothly. Firstly, when we got there the winds were too strong and we couldn't get the tent up so they didnt hesitate and moved our pitch and helped us out to get the tent up in just a few minutes. As soon as there was an issue they were jumping to fix it including the play equipment making sure it was kept in safe condition for the kids to use. When my son bumped his head richards wife mel tended to him and provided and ice pack. They were so lovely to chat to everyday and we hope to see them on the site again in the future.

Just come back from a 2x…
Powered grass campsite
Liked Just come back from a 2x week stay at the Beeches and we absolutely loved it very clean sight, well maintained very generous spacious pitches ben and richard oh and roxie (the dog 😊) looked after us just like family for the whole stay ben even played football with the kids it's a very cosy campsite , just a way we like it to be honest , it's one of the best campsites we've been to so far for making us feel welcomed we had a little issue with my cousins tent due to the very bad wind on the day and ben and his dad , richard helped them pitch up anytime the toilets ran out of soap , no toilet rolls ect mick refilled, it Immediately also, some other bigger kids broke the kids side of the park again mick was out within minutes and toke it out of commission and made it all safe and repaired it the next day so safety is also their biggest strength yes, this site has staggered feedback, but I can honestly say please try it we love to stay and we'll happily go back anytime from the bottom of our hearts THANK YOU MICK BEN AND RICHARD 😊😊 for making us feel like family more than a campsite
Disliked The only discleke we've had is ants and that's got nothing to do with the owners or maintenance team it's just britain unfortunately take plenty of ant powder if pitching up in the hot weather (it dose help)

From the manager: Anonymous, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on The Beeches.
Glad you liked the campsite overall and yes our play area is a highlight for those visiting but recently it has taken a bit of a battering so we have had to remove elements of it for safety purposes. It will be rectified very soon though.
As for the pitches being too close together, they are 10m squared and are clearly marked out. This is also dependant on how campers pitch and how many vehicles are in use by each pitch as it should in theory allow a safe distance. But saying that, it also depends on what you’re used to. We have a limited amount of space available for camping and we do always adhere to the safety of campers first and foremost. Thank you again for posting your unbiased review on us.

Liked Everything! 🥰
Disliked Negative reviews!
Yes normally you can have fires but unfortunately due to the temperature the grass is extremely dry therefore for the SAFETY of everyone onsite they have taken the decision not to allow them at this time! Which we totally agree with!
This is a lovely campsite great for the children, well run with amazing staff/owners, and value for money! 💰
This is our 4th time here and are returning again in August.
Regarding the noise from the A17 this is CLEARLY stated in the write up so when people complain about it well you should read before booking 🤦🏻♀️ yes there is noise which some earplugs soon sort out!
The WiFi is rubbish but you’re camping!! The site does not provide WiFi and does not state that they do!!
I disagree that these sorts of comments bring the rating down of a lovely site!
We can’t wait to return! See you all soon 💜

From the manager: Louise, thank you for taking the time to review The Beeches. We love having you here as the fact you keep coming back means we are getting things right.
Absolutely right with the safety as we do take this seriously and we do not take these decisions to allow open fires and firepit usage lightly.
We are a family orientated site as we have spent so much time, effort and money on providing enough for the children to do onsite. Children should be allowed to be children and we love hearing whoops of laughter from them clearly enjoying themselves.
Yes we have never hidden the fact we are close to the A17, I do wish we could control the traffic noise but we have done all we can. At the end of the day it’s all down to what you’re used to. For some people this can be a problem.
We do have Wi-Fi but this is only to our vans so we can run the site correctly and is very limited in distance.
We do work very hard to maintain this site and you are so right about certain reviews which bring down our overall score.
We look forward to seeing you all again very soon and thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We all appreciate it!

Liked I like nothing comparing with other campsites
Disliked Very noisy since the A17 is yards away.
No information about the restriction in using the fire pit during the stay despite the fact that has been advertised as camping with fire pit access.

From the manager: Aurelian, thank you for leaving a review on The Beeches.
Right, where do we start?
You “liked nothing comparing with other campsites”. You were greeted by our team on arrival as how did you know where to pitch. Your party were spoken to each day as we specifically ask if there’s any problems to let us know so we can rectify them. We take note of this and each time it was “everything is fine” or words to that effect. If it was so bad, then why did you stay the full booked period and not let us know that things were not to your safisfaction? Shall I go on?
The location of the campsite is clearly stated on our profile and bio, we can do nothing about the A17 noise. We have not tried to hide this.
On arrival, you were handed an A4 sheet of paper with the reasons why were are not allowing fire pits just now. Alongside this was a copy of the site rules. We don’t like asking people not to use fire pits or open fires but this because it’s being done for your own safety. We believe this is common sense but perhaps you have not seen the grass fires around the UK. Enough said!

Liked We had a fantastic stay and will definitely be returning!
The pitches were lovely and spacious, giving everyone plenty of room to relax. Our children absolutely loved the huge play area and the large open field where they could run around and bug hunt and run around safely for hours.
The on-site staff were so friendly and welcoming, always happy to help and even checking in with us during our stay to make sure everything was okay and even had the ice cream man visit which was a really lovely touch.
The shower had great water pressure, which is always appreciated after a day outdoors and was regularly cleaned. There was also a lovely café just around the corner serving delicious breakfasts, making our mornings even better.
The campsite is quite secluded but for us that was actually part of its charm. It made for a peaceful, relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle.
Overall, we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this campsite, especially for families. We can’t wait to come back!

From the manager: Chelsea, firstly thank you ever so much for leaving a review on The Beeches Campsite.
We’d love to have you come back as you so clearly appreciate everything that we’re trying to achieve here.
Yes we are a family orientated site, and allowing children to play safely is paramount. We take great pride in what we have achieved in the last year here but some people can’t seem to switch off form the road noise but this review translates as you being able to switch off and relax ,which is what people are meant to do. Absolutely right about getting away from the hustle and bustle. We get that totally!
Great that you found our showers to your liking, we use these ourselves when we are all on site. As for Chèle’s Cafe, both Chèle and Max are wonderful people who present wonderful food and we love putting business their way as it works to both our advantage. Having the cafe where it is, is good for us as we have not had one open for a while and it compliments our facilities very well.
As a team, we take great pride in what we do here and having people tell us we’re doing things right is great to hear. The ice cream man was a recent thing but it seems to work very well and we will continue to have him visit. Thanks again for taking the time to leave your review as recently we have taken a bit of bashing in reviews but this has perked us up a bit. Thank you
