Yes normally you can have fires but unfortunately due to the temperature the grass is extremely dry therefore for the SAFETY of everyone onsite they have taken the decision not to allow them at this time! Which we totally agree with!
This is a lovely campsite great for the children, well run with amazing staff/owners, and value for money! 💰
This is our 4th time here and are returning again in August.
Regarding the noise from the A17 this is CLEARLY stated in the write up so when people complain about it well you should read before booking 🤦🏻‍♀️ yes there is noise which some earplugs soon sort out!
The WiFi is rubbish but you’re camping!! The site does not provide WiFi and does not state that they do!!
I disagree that these sorts of comments bring the rating down of a lovely site!
We can’t wait to return! See you all soon 💜

Absolutely right with the safety as we do take this seriously and we do not take these decisions to allow open fires and firepit usage lightly.
We are a family orientated site as we have spent so much time, effort and money on providing enough for the children to do onsite. Children should be allowed to be children and we love hearing whoops of laughter from them clearly enjoying themselves.
Yes we have never hidden the fact we are close to the A17, I do wish we could control the traffic noise but we have done all we can. At the end of the day it’s all down to what you’re used to. For some people this can be a problem.
We do have Wi-Fi but this is only to our vans so we can run the site correctly and is very limited in distance.
We do work very hard to maintain this site and you are so right about certain reviews which bring down our overall score.
We look forward to seeing you all again very soon and thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We all appreciate it!

No information about the restriction in using the fire pit during the stay despite the fact that has been advertised as camping with fire pit access.

Right, where do we start?
You “liked nothing comparing with other campsites”. You were greeted by our team on arrival as how did you know where to pitch. Your party were spoken to each day as we specifically ask if there’s any problems to let us know so we can rectify them. We take note of this and each time it was “everything is fine” or words to that effect. If it was so bad, then why did you stay the full booked period and not let us know that things were not to your safisfaction? Shall I go on?
The location of the campsite is clearly stated on our profile and bio, we can do nothing about the A17 noise. We have not tried to hide this.
On arrival, you were handed an A4 sheet of paper with the reasons why were are not allowing fire pits just now. Alongside this was a copy of the site rules. We don’t like asking people not to use fire pits or open fires but this because it’s being done for your own safety. We believe this is common sense but perhaps you have not seen the grass fires around the UK. Enough said!

Syntes om We had a fantastic stay and will definitely be returning!

The pitches were lovely and spacious, giving everyone plenty of room to relax. Our children absolutely loved the huge play area and the large open field where they could run around and bug hunt and run around safely for hours.

The on-site staff were so friendly and welcoming, always happy to help and even checking in with us during our stay to make sure everything was okay and even had the ice cream man visit which was a really lovely touch.

The shower had great water pressure, which is always appreciated after a day outdoors and was regularly cleaned. There was also a lovely café just around the corner serving delicious breakfasts, making our mornings even better.

The campsite is quite secluded but for us that was actually part of its charm. It made for a peaceful, relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle.

Overall, we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this campsite, especially for families. We can’t wait to come back!

We have no control of the traffic noise as we have built up banks to try to lessen this noise. We can be quiet at times but this is totally out of our hands. If we could have a mute button for the road noise, it would be well worn by now. Merci beaucoup

such as Fulbeck and Caythorpe - only a few miles to Subrooke Moor Golf club,
helpful and friendly owners and clean shower and toilet block

Location wise, we are centrally placed but we are very close to the A17 which is a dealbreaker for a lot of people. We do take pride in being helpful in any way we can as this forms the core of our beliefs. The fact that us management team use the facilities onsite regularly means we expect a high standard of cleanliness. Yes we’re not far from Subrooke Moor Golf Club but we in Ernest close to a lot of places. It’s not to everyone’s taste but the fact you thought it was lovely means the world to us. We put in a lot of time maintaining and upgrading the site and we feel we are getting things right. The fact you slept like a baby speaks volumes as a lot of negative reviews are around the road noise and this is clearly documented. Cleanliness of toilets & shower & general environment.
It is a basic site, but perfect for exactly what we needed.
Ease of getting on site.
Value for money.
Pretty at night time with the solar lights.
The cafe round the corner.

Syntes ikke om Ants - not the owners fault, just be savvy about food/rubbish.
The ground is quite hard (had very little rain) if tenting take decent pegs, we bent up quite a few - again not something the owners could do about it.

Fra bestyreren: Rachel, thank you for leaving a review on The Beeches Campsite. You hit the nail firmly on the head there that we are a basic site but are geared towards families. We have made so many changes over the close season in updating and making the site look nice and appealing.
We do have a close working relationship with the cafe owners and as such we both benefit from business.
The ants are an ongoing problem and with the weather as it has been has meant they can be problematic but I’m sure we’re not the only ones going through this. You’re absolutely right about being savvy with very little rain and although we’ve tried watering to get grass to regrow, this is a very hard job to do just now. So glad you mentioned about pegs as we do have a couple of inches of topsoil on the site but it is pure limestone underneath. I have had to remove pegs that people have left due to them bending but these did not agree with our lawnmower at all. We’d welcome you again with us to stay at The Beeches and that you thoroughly enjoyed your event at Belvoir Castle. Thank You

Syntes om We thought the camp site was lovely. Very basic and rustic but pretty. The people who run it were helpful and pleasant.

Syntes ikke om The toilets and showers. One shower in each was definitely not enough for when the camp is busy. Not enough toilets and they were smelly. Both toilets and showers definitely need updating.

Fra bestyreren: Stephen, many thanks for posting a review on The Beeches. We are a friendly bunch who are helpful and bend over backwards to make your stay more enjoyable.

We have totally revamped the toilet and shower block building in the past winter and this includes the showers and all of the insides including the toilets too. We do not own the structures as these are leased to us so adding extra showers is not an option just now. Unfortunately, some people leave the toilets in a not very nice state and we have subsequently checking these more frequently as a result. Thank you for bring this to our attention.

Syntes ikke om The site was crowded, quite scruffy with lots of uncut pitches. I was given a piece of bare earth with no grass to pitch on, there was constant traffic noise, one of the neighbours played music until midnight

Secondly and more important. Yes we have been busy on our site as we are popular. I’m not sure where you’ve been recently as most or nearly all campsites are experiencing dry spells. Having lush green grass is one thing we do have the time nor finances to tend to. Not sure about uncut pitches as these are cut regularly. At least you had a temporary hard standing (not of our making) for your stay, we have had motorhomes dug in to the grass on occasions. Thankfully this did not happen to you. On our bio and statement we do not hide the fact that we are close to the A17 and for those who are not used to road noise this can be a problem and it sounds like it was for you. As for your neighbour playing loud music, did you report this? We can enforce only if we know about it at the time. As we are a family orientated site, we probably do not meet your stringent requirements and we wish you well to find a perfect campsite which is silent, empty and ticks all of your boxes. Maybe your expectation was too high when with us.
